We just got back from St Joe State Park in FL and we saw 3 other Airstreams besides us. They were all relatively new units compared to our 81 Excella II. We saw more in seller lots and parked.

WINDFALL!! WINDFALL!! We just made a 600 mile trip and saw 7 airstreams in one day. Four rolling, two in campgrounds and one in a driveway. Oh yea, the one in the rear view mirror makes eight. I liked it the best. The second leg of the trip which made up the final 200 miles was fruitless. We are spending two weeks and then returning home via a different route; the count home will be interesting.

We camped overnight in Carmel and there was a Bambi and an older what looked like a Squarestream that may have been modified in the park. I do see quite a few on the road out here in N. California -- we're usually the only one so far in the part of Lake Berryessa we go to with friends but then...I kinda like being the "rock star" of the campground!

When we pulled into Taos Valley RV Park there were 2 Airstreams here. We saw several parked at people's houses on the trip here.

Sometimes they are everywhere, sometimes there are none.

We saw two at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park in East Texas this weekend. Plus one that we see on the way to putting Thumper back in storage after each outing.

when i toured the factory, before i bought the coach that i currently have alot of the production comming off the line was earmarked for the european market.with this current recession i suspect sales in the usa have been sluggish at best.in my travels im lucky if i see one or two airstreams on a 1000 mile trip.inmho price point on these units keeps us in a very exclusive group.

We, that is my wife and two cats, go to Boyd's Key West, and I see about 5 to 10 each way. Thru out the summer we go to Bluegrass event from NY to Fla, and there you may see two or three. Not many. I feel most people do not want to spend the money, and buy something larger for less money. We just love ours. About ready to leave on 12-28 for Key West, again, see you under a palm on the beach or pool.

I saw a couple on the road this last week. There was someone following me outside Troy Alabama on the way to Montgomery who was pulling an Airstream and this was yesterday afternoon. They were in a late model Airstream pulling it with a Silver Lincoln SUV of some sort. We were in a hurry to get home in one in one day so I did not get a chance to slow down and say Hi. We were in our Excella II pulling it with a white Ford Excursion.

In the past 5 years we have covered 37 States traveling with our Airstream and are always on the lookout for fellow Airstreamers. We see a few but not large numbers and always attempt contact using the CB without success. Sometime it would be nice just to have lunch with fellow Airstreamer on the road but so far that has never happened.

Do you use a CB radio while traveling?

Hi, gaylejoe. Maybe start a thread or pole on who uses a CB radio. I don't.

Where are all the Airstreams

I live in a small town in North Central Arkansas, a place you would least expect to see an Airstream......Going to town last Sunday, I MADE a u-turn when I saw an Airstream Bambi, they were fueling up...Stopped and talked to them a while. They were real nice folks from Florida, just traveling around......It was a 2001 model. Sure was a pretty site....I guess I am just an Airstream Junkie !!!
