Where Do We Go?

Okay, we're ready to get out of the cold. We live in central Missouri and don't know if we should go south to Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas or east to Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head. We want warm like 50-60 degree days and sunshine. We don't want to go more than say 1000 miles, less if possible. So, does anyone have any great places they can suggest and great campgrounds that are clean and friendly? Thanks in advance for all the help!!

It's supposed to be 53 right where you are tomorrow. The way the weather has been this year, who could say where it might be warm next week?

Lots of great campgrounds and weather around Clearwater, Fl. Check its weather on Google. We stay just north of there in Dunedin, Palm Harbor. We were in the 85 F pool this afternoon.

The Emerald Coast of Florida is a very pleasant area, and should be around the mid 50s to mid 60s this time of year. That's the Florida Panhandle, and is about 750 miles from mid Missouri.

I've never seen whiter sand, or more welcoming people.

Very quiet area too, lots of interesting views of the Santa Rosa Sound.

Look at it on Google, you might find it to your liking.

Thumbs up Try NOLA

I lived for almost a year in the Queen City of the Ozarks, and recall one very cold winter there.

Just got back from New Orleans. Great weather, and we stayed at Bayou Segnette State Park, just about 20 minutes from downtown. This was our second trip to Bayou Segnette, and can't say enough about the campground and people. Lots to see in the surrounding areas, too.

Hey, I recognize mighty Max from Branson in October! Yea, but I was hoping for trees with leaves and consistent day time temps. Didn't you see that it's supposed to be 32 on Thursday?
Does anyone have any specifics for south like Florida or Texas or east near Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head?

Second on NOLA, although you are not going to find "warm" there this time of year.

It is a good time to visit, in many respects, as crowds are thin. We like Bayou Segnette SP, also have stayed a few times at the French Quarter RV park which is within walking distance (or taxi) in the Quarter. If you're gonna party, might want to be close rather than doing the drive from BS SP to the ferry and back.

French Quarter RV park also offers some off-season specials, don't know if they are doing that now, and have been Passport America (50% off) for one night.

Anywhere in Louisiana is good this time of year, in our opinion. There's a rally-that-didn't-happen thread here from a couple of years ago, highlights a lot of special areas.

Travel safe. May see ya down there.

🏡 🚐 Cherish and appreciate those you love. This moment could be your last.🌹🐚❤️

I have been trying to get to Matagorda Bay in south Texas. Looks very nice. Still working on my trailer but when I get it going that will be my first place to go. I will be going to Houston in July for a wedding and I am going to check it out then. Good luck in your travels.

We stayed at this park, had an ocean-side spot for about $300 a week. Nice park, well-run.

Weather this week there seems to be between 50 and 60F

A 1200 mile trip will put you in Southern AZ where you are almost guaranteed warm, sunny and dry days.
