I know the leaves are still on the trees (mostly), but earlier today I found myself starting to think about trips and destinations for 2006. THAT got me wondering where everyone else was going to be going and if I couldnt pick up some ideas that might not have occured otherwise.
So lets hear it folks, where are you going in your AS next year?
We'll be heading back to Montana and try to see everything we missed this year. Also Wyoming and the Badlands of the Dakotas.
Funny you should reply just then, I have been looking at your website, nice work!! While you are in Wyoming I highly recomend the Big Horn National Forest; great scenery, and lots of great camping (both campgrounds and boondocking), and best part is most people blaze right on through on the way to or from Yellowstone so it isnt that crowded. anyway happy travels
Our plans are the Vintage Vacations Rally in Newport Beach, the WBCCI International in Salem and the Vintage Airstream Rally in Newport Beach. That probably takes care of my vacation time. Unless I can manage a Lincoln Continental Owners Club event.

At this point our plans are to camp a week in Osoyoos on the lake in the Canadian Okanagan valley in June (an annual event), tour the WA and OR coast in July, tour through BC, ID, MT in late August/early September. Already getting excited about getting out and using the trailer again. Barry
Hmmm, well I missed the Tetons this year. I have already planned a week for that.
Rodney, You are right, we did just what you said. Blazed right thru the Big Horn Mts. on the way to Yellowstone. They are a sight to see. Maybe I can take a side trip there from the Tetons.

Porky Pig, Also Wyoming and the Badlands of the Dakotas.
Porky Pig, You really oughta go to the Badlands. It is a experience I will never forget. Stay at the KOA in Interior, SD. They have WiFi and are very friendly.
I will be attending the International in Salem,OR.
Plus a lot of weekend trips.
Other than that, what ever comes up. I know that there is another Troutlake Rally coming up and any other Rallies I can attend that are close.
Trip# 1 Off from ALB to go to the Calsbad Caverns. I hear they are mind blowing when you actually see them.
Then off to Arizona. Arizona folks give me ideas please!!!!
Then to S California. Lots to see and do there. Will try to get north to Oregon and then back through Washington State and then back down through Denver back to home base in ALB.
Trip#2 Yellowstone - period.
Trip#3 Open to ideas??? Anyone got any great places that a family with 3 kids really needs to see?? Private emails are AOK by me.

All over North and South Carolina....all year long! The favorite part of my territory is the western NC mountains around Lake Toxaway / Sapphire. So many Wal-Marts...so little time!
Follow the river up from N. Augusta SC to Murphy NC it's out of the way and all secondary roads so no speed issues.
Stop and play a little golf at Hickory Knob State park after you spend a day or two.

Well for me March is going to be my big travel month. Sherri's Cookbook Caravan will kick off, starting in Maryland and ending up all over the place, picking up members along the way. Some members have asked to do the whole caravan with me, which is way cool. I'll literally be all over the U.S., so if you're interested, drop me an email and see if I'll in your neck of the woods.
Bill, Sherri, the kids and I did the Vintage Vacations Rally in 2003, when we had our 1968 29' Streamline Empress. We had a blast. We met Tom Patterson, travel trailer guru, and I even got to meet Craig Dorsey, though he looked busier than a one-legged man at a butt kicking contest. Very nice guy.

We're going south to see the Tarheel branch of the family. First stopping at Cumberland Gap National Park, Wilderness Road Campground then south to Uwharrie National Forest (its lovely and quiet) Arrowhead Campground, then to South Carolina's Huntington Beach Campground (full hookups) to explore Myrtle Beach and Charleston. Then back via Lake Allatoona. We are trying out two new campgrounds thanks to the recommendations of the forum (SC and GA).
