Weather permitting, I'll be going as far as the driveway to polish the Caravel. Hope all of you heading to beautiful places won't be too jealous of the fun I'll be having...

Temporary Boondocking

Here in the south I'll be at Hard Labor Creek State Park near Rutledge, GA with nvestysly and ALANSD from the forums.

I pulled in last night and set up hearing thunder to the west. Then it hit. Serious stuff with strong frontline winds. Serious as in hunkering down in the concrete bath house until it was over serious. Many trees were snapped off in the middle or blown down completely and the campground lost power. Miraculously, no one hurt and every camper undamaged in spite of trees falling on all sides of them.

Power's back on now. And I've heard the weather will be great this weekend.

Dacia, Ya'll have a great time there. I'll be in Roan Mountain, TN at the State Park. It's a great place with elevation that makes for nice cool weather.

For Memorial Day, working. My one weekend off every three weeks comes the weekend following Memorial Day, so that;s when we'll be hauling Bertha over to the East coast for a couple of days. It's the first time we've traveled because we want to in a year and a half.

Dave,
Nice scooter, I ride too. It's not the best picture, but it is the only digital picture I have of my HOG. I don't have any big trips planned this year. Mostly weekend jaunts to Penn Wood, weather permitting. I take it to work every day for the gas mileage (100 mile roundtrip). I'd like to ride more for pleasure, but just don't have the time. I'd like to ride to Sturgis one year, but and having trouble talking the wife into it. She always says she will fly out and meet me there.

Heading up to the cool White Mountains here in Arizona for some trout fishing. Staying at Hawley Lake which used to set the low temperatures for the state until they dismantled the weather station. A few of us will be spending Memorial Day and the following Tuesday fishing for Apache trout in Christmas Tree Lake which got its name form having a tree taken from its shores, hauled across country and erected in the White House back in the '60s. Great story to go along with the fantastic fishing. I hope.
