Where are you camping Memorial Day weekend?
The state parks in Florida are packed full. We grabbed a cancellation about a month ago at Silver Springs State Park. Temps are supposed to get up into the 90's and no swimming allowed in the Silver River! Bummer! Wild Waters is not going to open until mid to late June....so I guess the plan will be to go canoeing EARLY in the morning and then stay in the shade for the rest of the day......where are you going?

I usually stay close to home holidays. Too many drunks and idiots on the road and at the campgrounds. I am going up to Paul B. Johnson State Park on Tuesday after the all go home.

Once I retire, I may copy your plan. But as long as I'm still working for a living, holiday weekends are prime camping time, and I can't let drunks spoil my fun.
Can't say anything about idiots, though, since I is one!

We are going to a club rally(Oregon Unit 90) in Crescent City, California at the Hiouchi RV Resort. The rally starts on Friday but we will leave tomorrow and drive down Hwy 101 along the Oregon Coast and arrive on Thursday PM. We'll stay over the long holiday weekend and arrive back home on next Wednesday. Great way to spend the holiday!
