Nice small park. I have camped there a few times. Great place for the kids to ride bikes. Prefer the camping area out by the entrance. Enjoy

We are at Virginia Highland Haven Airstream Park this weekend. The weather has been beautiful this week.
The Southeastern Camping Unit is having a rally here this weekend and I think I heard about 20 additional guests will be in the park along with a good many shareholders.
There will be hikes, trips to Floyd and surrounding areas.
A few spots are available so give the park a call if you a looking for a place for the weekend.

Great spots!
So many of you have selected such great spots for your Memorial Day weekend. I wish this Forum had a "Like" button so I could properly express my enthusiasm for your selections!

We've never camped on holiday weekends. What are we in store for? Will it really be bad?

No, it won't be bad. How can it be? Even a bad day camping is better than a good day doing anything else.
But Memorial Day weekend will see more children in the popular campgrounds, because it's the first holiday weekend of the summer camping season where the kids are out of school.
There will also be more people on the road than any other time until Thanksgiving weekend, so driving to the campground can be less pleasant.
But to make up for noisy kids and bad drivers, for most campers Memorial Day weekend is the first real chance to see nature in all its glory after a long cold winter. And as long as you have a reservation for your destination campground so you're not turned away when you get there due to them already being full, you will enjoy it. I guarantee it, or double your Internet back!

Us too. Memorial Day to Labor Day is the off season for us. We do a few weekdays here and there, but big trips are usually after Labor Day.
