I used my A-Liner Alite 400 for quick weekend jaunts. It was very lightweight and could be towed with something as small as a 1100cc motorcycle. I sold it last Spring; I wish now I had kept it. It had no facilities, however it did have a battery, fantastic fan, converter, and AC hookups.

I have been looking at the new Earthbound and Evergreen traveltrailers.I've been very impressed by their construction. They are expensive but much cheaper than a new Airstream in todays market.Iwould seriously look at them. And the Airstream (Thor)Corp should keep there eyes open at these new traillers.I believe they have some real advantages over airstreams.Check them out.LIke a much longer warranty and maybe better construction???????

you better look at them very deep closely . they are not really as good as you seen first time . their construction are too weak even 3 years warranty means nothing . Earthbound is a brand new company . they try to sell for longer warranty to get customer .

Steve, we have been talking a fair amount behind the scenes about what will work for you...
I have been hunting for you...
I woke in the middle of the night with a realization...
wouldn't it be better to have a TPOS Airstream than a vintage SOB?
Just my thought.

Frank,
Steve knows where there is a TPOS for CHEAP! It's not more than 10 miles from my house. Nice shell. Towable. It could be used for camping if you were always somewhere that had a shower house. Then it could be sold off without any loss.
Steve,
Whenever you want me to hook up to it and drag it to SA, let me know!

Might you be referring to the 72 Overlander?

I was trying to not get into something that needs alot of work, and I believe that one does. Did you take pics of it when you looked at it? I may just camp this summer and sell it off with minimal loss. Did it have appliances?

Ive had several "total pieces of Silver" Airstreams....just worried about another that we wouldnt be keeping long term.

Yes Steve, that's the one.
No fridge
No gaucho
No beds
No bath
A/C broken
Good ventilation through the holes in the floor!
I didn't take any pics, but the shell was in pretty good shape. Aluminum tent.

Steve,

Have you checked out VintageCampers.com :: Vintage Campers, Vintage Trailers, Vintage Parts, Vintage Restorations
They are up in Indiana, with some canned hams that are cheap and wouldn't need too much work. He has a nice 64 GT for almost $10K. He puts pretty good descriptions of all the systems on his website.
Hope you find one.

Check 'Dan's collection' button on the left side.
He has some awesome old trailers.

I'd be on the lookout for an Avion. There always seems to be a few of those around well within your price range. If you liked it enough you could keep it for your permanent trailer - definitely a quality trailer.

Yeah...don't think it's going to work out! No AC in the Texas summer, no beds is an issue! No bath is okay since we could just use facilities.

I know of an Airforums member here in CT (no, not me) who would probably be quite happy to sell his campable and rather nice 22' Argosy comfortably within this price range...

Just get a couple of cots from the supply SGT and buy a window A/C unit at Lowes or Home Depot. When Summer is over take the broken AC back to Lowes and turn the cots back in to the supply SGT. Sell the trailer to the next guy looking for a "restoration" project.
