What's your all-time favorite campsite?

We are always searching for the most awesome campsite.

We just returned from our current favorite. It is at Navarre Beach Campground in Florida. As you can see in the picture, you step directly off your apron onto their private beach complete with lounge chairs, cabanas, and a fishing pier. It is located on the north shore of the sound which is about 1 mile north of the actual gulf coast. Its awesome. The campground is well managed and very well maintained. Click on the photo for a better view.

I think our favorite is at Navajo National Monument on the reservation in northeast Arizona. I don't have any pictures of the campsites themselves, but here's a pic of a slickrock area just a couple hundred yards behind the campground:

And here's one down near the Betatakin Ruins overlook, just a quarter mile or so from the visitor's center:

We lived in Arizona for a few years and saw some of the most spectacular sites there.

The next campsite!

In the year and a half that I've owned my Airstream, I haven't camped in the same place twice. Haven't seen any reason to. There are too many places I haven't seen yet.

We have traveled far and wide and I don't really have a favorite, but...
It is pretty hard to beat the North Abutment campground at Grenada Lake.

Speaking of Florida...

Fort Wilderness is awesome.
I hope Topsail Hill Preserve is wonderful. We are headed to Canopener in January.

Just spent 4 days at Oh Ridge CG. Now our favorite campsite. June lake area has so much to offer. So close to Yosemite, Mono Lake, and Mammoth Lakes.

Orr's Island Campsite, Maine

We'll be camping on The Battenkill next week; however, camping on Orr's Island Campground in Maine is quickly gaining on one of our all time favorites. We'll have a better feel for it by week's end but for now it's site #43A overlooking the bay with a clear view of the SW sky for a good DTV signal.

Probably my all-time favorite wasn't Airstream related: 1971 0n the shores of the Arctic near Point Barrow, AK; or more recently, any one like this one along the Selway River, ID.

Too many to count! Deadhorse Point State Park near Moab, UT ranks high, but we would probably vote for the municipal CG in New Denver, BC. Right on Slocan Lake overlooking the Valhalla Range, and the town is a former WWII Japanese internment camp with an open air museum and memory gardens. The drive up to Idaho Peaks in August for the view and wildflowers is well worth it for a high-clearance vehicle (narrow road!) For the more adventuresome head north up the lake to camp at Wragge Beach-- the road is rough, to be taken slowly. The lake is great for kayaking/canoeing, and there is a swimming beach.

Len n Jeanne --

What size trailers do you think one could get up the road into Wragge's and into the camp spaces? I loved the research I was able to do about the location, but parks BC suggests it's tents only; that or they simply dont have the information desired about the park!
