What's at St. George Island, FL

I'm leaving Friday for St. George Island Fl. and camping at the state park. Any help as what to expect, look forward to, or any other free advice you can give. We've only made one other trip in the recent redo and in a learning curve camping and Airstreams. Thanks

Lots of sand, beach and hiking. Breezy during the day. Buggy at night.
Enjoy the beach!

Wow! That's a long bridge over water to get out there.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

That was our first campground after we bought our first Airstream in 2007. Stopped there on the way back from Bates, Tampa to Louisiana. When we stayed there it was perfect weather, campground was clean and not crowded. There is a small town community outside the campground with a few places to eat. We spent several hours walking the deserted beach. Very nice initiation to airstreaming.

One of the top ten beaches in the U.S. Awesome campground, unbelievable beaches. We stopped there on our way back west and wished we had time to stay for a week. Can't say enough positive things... except isn't June 1 when hurricane season begins?

I know what's at St. George

I now know what's at St. George Is. Florida's best kelp secret. The beach was wonderful with very few people, We mostly had it to ourselves around the area of the State Park. The camp sites were mostly shade and everything was clean. at night the bugs were out but none during the day. We are already planning a trip in the fall to carry The rest of the kids with us. This place gets a A+.

Very good shrimp for sale at East Point just across the bay from Appalachicola (the town by the bridge to St. George Island). Of course the area is known for their oysters, but oysters are best if bought in months that have an "r" in the spelling. The water is getting pretty warm now for best oysters. Interesting history in the quaint town of Appalachicola and fun to browse their shops. Pat
