Thanks for the replies! The water heater definitely had water in it. We had been out for two weeks just a week before. Everything was working fine. We are tracking down fixit options. Meanwhile enjoying our trip.

Loved the comments about backpacking! Ah, I remember some weather gone wrong on one trip. As a matter of fact, we are sitting out some major wind right now. Glad to not be driving in it.

We adapted to the lack of hot water fairly quickly. Not adapting so well to the husband in the hospital 1000 miles from home. There is no zen for that. Will update when we get back home, which will hopefully be *this month.* arg.

Hope everything is all right!
Many problems seem almost impossible to solve, -- and then an even bigger one comes along and the first one does not even matter anymore.

My new favorite saying, both a work and at home, comes from the online science fiction comic strip Freefall: "In a perfect world, I'd be given enough time to wrap up one emergency before the next one starts."

Seems like that saying suits you to a T. Hope things work out.

Won't be getting home this month, but will be getting out of the hospital this month. Doctor recommends that my husband fly home.

Got a flat tire the day I moved the trailer from the campground to the hospital town (80 miles). Trailer is one year old. Got a puncture near the sidewall, so tire has to be replaced. Need to do that before I head back home.

Good news is that my husband is recovering.

We had a furnace problem on the rod and pulled into a Winnebago dealership. They fixed it quickly, well, and probably cheaper than an Airstream dealer. Use the same brand of WH and furnace also. I run my WH on gas all the time.
