....3.36 here in southwest Oklahoma today (May 11) for unleaded...moved down from 3.69, and got pretty spooky there for a while as you could see peoples hair bristling on their necks.

$4.49 for 87 octane yesterday in Redondo Beach, CA
Drove by a pump on the way to work in Torrance, CA with $4.81 for premium.
Low inventories of gasoline = high prices? Wait, supply and demand pricing works?

Last Friday, $3.74 in Delta, Colo. (we paid $3.54 with supermarket discount and filled up to 5 gal. gas cans too).

Gas Buddy is showing me best prices for regular AND diesel are now the same for the first time in a long time, $4.159. I think prices have been dropping here for a few weeks, but they just switch to the summer blend on the GAS.

San Francisco Bay Area, East Bay to be specific just about the highest in the country.
I was lucky to get Diesel for $4.29 this week, I use an American Express Card to get 3% back at the end of the year.

Or increasing extraction and production costs due to environmental and safety regulations mandated by US government and voters, higher taxes, and variations in supply and demand.
Lets just remember how much tax there is on gasoline in other countries in order to put it in perspective. Because that really scares me... :-)

Our ACCC has been investigating collusion and price fixing petrol goes down on mondays anywhere as low as $5.90 a gallon and on thursday night goes up to $6.50 a gallon again
LP gas comes out of the ground in Australia at 2 cents a litre we sell it to china and the chinese consumer pay around 19 cents a litre in australia pay 79 cents a litre there are approx 4.5 litres in a gallon
If you think that is stiff a three bedroom house no garage average west australian median is $475.000 average median for a 5x2 bath 3 car garage 1 million dollars plus
if you are on the coast double that amount for both
