Remember That Gas Prices For US all...
Here, were rewritten due to the huge 'O-well spill down in the Gulf of late, and elsewhere, and on and on and on. Remember also that Big Oil has every Congressman ( In Their pocket, front-rear, and it doesn't phase any of them )!
We, The People, Pay for it!..

In Santa Fe and Albuquerque, gas was around $2.83 to $2.89 a few days ago. Pueblo, Colorado, about the same. During the last week gas went up about 3¢ to 6¢.
Wholesale gas closed at $2.75 yesterday and has been holding around that for the last 10 days.

It’s funny how we’ve been conditioned... Last week, I saw regular unleaded for $2.94 and pulled into that station like a thirsty vampire at a blood bank. Seemed like a real bargain... Had to remind myself of the perversity of that thought.
The real problem is the price for diesel - saw it briefly for around $3.64 then back up to $3.75-$3.85 (New Braunfels, TX). Most everything we use, buy, consume, etc., is brought in by trucks. The cost of fuel has driven up the cost of everything...

Drove to Florida and back last week on I 95 and saw gas prices all over the board. The cheapest prices were in SC, then Georgia (avg 3.25) and Virginia. NC and FL were by far the most expensive with prices as high as 3.42. The Hess station on Disney was 3.39.
The cheapest I saw was 3.17 in SC and one gas station on RT 58 in Suffolk VA. I believe it was in the mid 3.20 just after you come off of the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel going south. My route was RT13 to 58 to 95 and then I 4 to Disney
Gas on RT 13 was in the mid 3.30

Fuel
It is so hard to believe that we were once complaining about gas going over $1.50! Also wasn't diesel the 'junk' no one wanted? Out here in lovely Fairfield, Connecticut prices have jump up twice in the last three days. On the way to work this morning regular cash pump your own is $4.09 a gallon. I am still amazed that gas stations are allowed to raise prices whenever they feel like it no matter what they paid for the stuff is already in their tanks.

They will tell you they have to raise prices to pay for the next shipment. Little or no profit is made on gas. It is the convenience store where the money is made. Right now in this part of the country we are paying about the same price as wholesale gas is going for. That means the gas station loses money on all the stuff they need to run the gas operation.
I know some stations will screw you if they can get away with it, and that every station in a town will have the same price. But the problem is all through the system—speculators who cash in on world events even though the actual costs of crude oil can be pretty low, the OPEC cartel, the giant oil companies who get subsidies, make enormous profits and get away with it are all part of it. Taxes are not a big part of the price and pay (in part) for the roads we use to get to the gas station. The guy who owns or leases a gas station is often as much a victim as we are.

Hi, back in the old days, long before me, my Dad said that they would, sometimes use, paint thinner or Kerosene in their car's tanks. It was a lot cheaper than gas, but didn't run as well. Don't try this in any of today's cars.

Since its been a mild winter in the states, the gas companies are selling the stuff to the highest bidder because there is so much of it here, to other parts of the world for big profits. The local gas companies are creating artificial shortages in the states thus driving up prices here by doing this. All the other BS about world problems are only excuses. Bottom line, the U.S. always gets screwed. About the only thing we can do is buy oil stock and ride the wave.

An elderly gent I know was telling me that in the fuel rationing during WWII he put gasoline in one side of his Harley's fuel tank and kerosene in the other side. He'd start the bike on gas and switch over to kero when on the road. He'd switch back to gas before shutting off the bike. He said the bike ran like crap on kero but it got you where you were going without burning scarce gas. I'm sure anyone with a WWII-era Harley could do the same if gas prices get too high

We are just spoiled. Virtually every country in the world pays and has paid more for gas than we ever have. Ask any Canadian what they think of our gas prices. When I worked in Canada we would drive from Vancouver BC across the border to buy gas in Blain WA. I'm not sure if this still goes on today.
I think we'd better get use to it because countries like China and India will be increasing their demand for fuel. As long as they are willing and able to pay the price it will stay high. Oh it might vary up and down some, but the days of $3.00 a gallon gas will soon be history.
Ask yourself this question. If you were in the business of selling any commodity like wheat, corn, lumber, or OIL. Would you sell it for a below market price. What about those who have retirement plans that include stock in these and other items. Wouldn't you want the company to maximize profits so your retirement plan would be worth more.
I don't own any oil stock, never have in full disclosure.
I don't like paying the higher prices any more than others do. I am a farmer and spend lot of money on fuel every year. But I also realize that the days of Chevron competing with Texaco down the street are gone because of the global economy and market.

Have you priced a gallon of Kerosene? It's more than double the price of Diesel.

Random locations for regular grade gas and crude prices for the past month:
Draw your own conclusions, I don't see the math for the sudden increase
