Halifax, Nova Scotia

With the litre to US gallon and currency conversion it works out to $2.87 USD a gallon for regular here in Halifax, Canada.
Just think, since Canada is the #1 supplier of oil to the US, providing about 1/5th of your daily consumption, every fifth tank of gas in the US comes from Canada. Which means Americans pay around 3/4 as much as we do for our own gas....stop complaining, it's still cheap by any other countries standards.

OK, time for us to move out of Fairfield County, CT! We are paying as of this morning $2.38 per gal for regular. I saw on the news last night $1.70 in Omaha! Still, it is a lot better than the $3.65 we were paying last August. But what ever the price it won't stop us from traveling with our AS!

Yesterday I saw lots of places in the Atlanta area for $1.95-$1.97. I saw a Shell station that had $1.90! I finally feel like the price is headed closer to reality. However, that Shell had diesel for $2.65 while at my local station it was $2.39 as of mid-last week. My wife filled my tank Saturday morning for me, so I don't know what our local station charged for diesel this weekend.

Once, not so long ago Georgia (Atlanta in particular) had the cheapest gas prices in the country. That's fact, no joke; it's because we had such low fuel taxes. However, our fuel taxes seem to be indexed so that the higher the price per gallon, the higher the tax rate goes. It is on a sliding scale I think. Anyway, Georgia gas used to be as much as $.25/gallon cheaper than Florida. For a while it was pretty much neck and neck. Now the gap should be widening. I don't know exactly how the prices run in other states except when we went to the Florida Can Opener Rally the gas prices in Alabama were comparable to Georgia's.

After hovering around 2.10, 2.05, it finally went under that magic number to 1.99. Diesel stays high at 2.59-2.69. What I understand is they are stockpiling in case the weather turns cold in the NE for fuel oil. However, I really think it is because the truck lines and truckers can pass on the costs to you and I plus a Little extra.

I am amazed at the differences in prices. Here in CT this morning it was $2.34 for regular. You would think being closer to the NJ terminals we would see a lower price, while those of you in the mid-west are paying less than $2.00. But no matter what the price, it won't stop us from Airstreaming!
