This post was made on 10-05-2006, 07:21 PM as yes those were the days.
I saw one Mobile station around the corner from me that was charging $3.95.9 for regular yesterday. No one was buying from him another down the street from him had it at $3.79.9. My Burb has been parked for 2 months now. I really miss driving it. Where will this end?
When people around the world cut way back on fuel purchases.

$4.259 for diesel today. 22.5 gallons... just shy of 96 buckaroos. Figured I'd fill up at a quarter tank before fuel goes up again. Dang, it was $3.99 last week.
They're nickle & dimin' us to $5, probably more by the end of summer. Funny how "world events" which raise the price of fuel, always happen right before the holidays or summer, when demand is up.

Not going to happen in our lifetime. The emerging economies in India and China will suck up all excess available petroleum for the foreseeable future. Both these countries are going through a revolutionary move to an automobile centered society from centuries of living without.
Just got back from Baja and the diesel was 2.15 a US Gal. And I was glad I had my 95 gal aux tank in the bed. But I hear the are stopping people from bringing back fuel in non approved tanks. But it won't last long before I get to pay the big bucks again. Oh well
$3.719 in Hotchkiss, Colo. It's usually about 20¢ less in Grand Junction. Saturday we start east to R.Is. and NYC with our 4Runner (no trailer this trip—22 mpg compared to 11.5 and what would I do with a trailer in NYC for a week?) and I'm looking forward to $4+ in NY and N.Eng. Gas has been lower in Colorado for several years and every time we go elsewhere, we are very unhappy. Oh, for the good old days when gas was only $2.
I paid $4.29 for Diesel this morning. I told the person who checked me out that a fillup costs almost as much as what I paid for my first car. He laughed, I didn't.
