Farmington ,New Mexico ---- Discount stations such as grocery stores are the cheapest here. Today they are posting regular at $2.97, diesel at $3.09. Brand named stores are $.06 to $.10 more. Nearly all fuel here comes from a local refiner that's 15 miles away. The same refiner supplys fuel to stations in Albuquerque , and after hauling it 180 miles, sell it for less. Go figure !!! ???

$2.75 in salem, oregon. been holding at $2.87 here in eugene, oregon for over a week at the cheapest stations and up to $3.30 at highest ones for regular gas.
Interesting to note that this thread started a year and a half ago at $1.50 and now today here in Sumter it hit $2.50 and they're dancing in the streets.

"Mid-MO: Regular gas = $2.39 That's down .20 in 3 days in two different drops. What's happening here? No move yet in diesel-why?"
My guess diesel will not come down like the gasoline prices have. Probably because diesel is used so much for winter heat in some parts of the country.
Here in the Omaha area I see 89 octane (10% alcohol) going for $2.46. Has dropped about 40 cents in a relatively short time. Nice.
For all of you Kiplinger Letter readers out there.... and other interested parties.. this blurb just came out today......thought this was interesting.. if forecast plays correct, it shows how we sit on a teeter-totter....called the oil can... so hurry-up..fire up your tow vehicle while can.. get that Airstream on the road.. it's time to take a road trip... The oil price outlook has taken a surprising downward shift
in the past couple of weeks. Why? More-sanguine forecasts
on this year’s hurricane season. No sign so far that tensions with Iran
are escalating. Oil inventories that are more plentiful than expected. And the psychological boost from the big discovery in the Gulf of Mexico, even though it probably won’t produce a drop of crude until 2009 or so.
IF there’s smooth sailing, expect oil at $60 a barrel by year end
and the average U.S. pump price for gasoline around $2.25 a gallon.

Chevron gas prices today: Regular $3.09 naturally all the others were higher. A couple of days ago the regular was $3.05 at same station. But it is Friday... we are on I-5.... Our prices are always really high.
Back in 09/06/2006 gas was around $2.69 per gallon as per this thread. This morning regular pump your own was $2.39 per gallon. So after over 1,500 posts we are almost back to where we started! This is some cool history.
