Yakima, WA.

Cheapest Diesel is at the Liberty station... 4.239 but I wouldn't buy it there. I might need a body guard and a big dog to get out alive.

Cheapest Chevron Diesel is 4.299

Cheapest regular unleaded is at Costco and ARCO .. 3.37. I refuse to buy at ARCO. I dont' like em.

Chevron and Shell regular 3.599 and 3.639.

Everything else is higher.

Ah , gas wars , I remember scoring 11 cents a gal once. Wouldn't it be nice if that was the WAR on the evening news.

Lets reinstate gas wars , the old fashion kind.

We just hit 3.49 today for reg in STL. Diesel at about 4.09.

I'm dreading my trip to Branson next week. 50 gallons of gas at least, not counting what it will take to top off the tank before we head out.

Timeline......... 1971

Gas $.25 a gal., I could buy a 6 pack for less than a buck (or a bottle of cheap wine), pot was $10 an oz..

How I dream of those days. Now, Diesel $4.30, $130 to fill up, not happy unless I spend at least $30 on a bottle of wine. Don't smoke pot any more, I hear it's $200 an oz. now (unless one is getting passed around at a party, I know, I'm a sleaze).

So, what does it all mean? I don't know. It is, what it is, and it's not getting any cheaper. We're not going to go back to $1, or $2 gas. Thats the way it is. Go forward my friends. We can't dwell on the past. We must change, and adapt. Then, 25 years from now, when the oil is gone, and the middle east is returned to a place no one cares about, we will tow our (much more) vintage Airstreams with something else.........

Wholesale gas closed at $2.96 today. For quite a while retail was about 80¢ above wholesale, which would mean about $3.75 when retail catches up. Crude oil futures were around $104/bbl towards the end of 2009 meaning the commodities market is betting on $100+ for the foreseeable future.

I'm looking to hire that guy on a bike who tows Airstreams.

Hi, and while you were paying 19 cents a gallon, in California we paid 25 cents a gallon during a price war. Just not fair, we paid more then and pay more now, I want a break. I'm moveing!

And just to put into the proper frame of mind, I was working as a computer operator at a bank making $106 a week.
