Up 2 cents to $3.51 today.... the only good news is that we plan to travel this summer, and gas in neighboring states seems cheaper. If only we can make it out of California!

When John posted this question it was $1.47 and now it is pushing $3.00 in centeral Jersey. However in the Princeton area if one searches on the net you will see a $.30 a gallon difference in 5 miles either side of town.
What the majors are now doing is starting rolling outages in this area to make people believe there is a shortage. The Exxon on route #1 was out Thursday and 2 stations on route 130 were out yesterday. For those of you not familair with the area these stations are less that 30 miles from the Exxon plant in Newark NJ were all the companies draw product from. O yes the Exxon station next to the Exxon plant in Newark generaly has the highest price. Transportation cost?
For those of you that lived through Enron's management of energy in California you know exactly what is going on. Same people just a different product.
Most stations in the Phoenix area are now over the magic $3 mark. I filled up last night at Costco at the bargin price of $2.969 and it only cost me $65.
The news stated this morning that AAA Georgia reported Atlanta's gas prices are $.10 below the national average, but had increased $.37 since one month ago.

Nice site balrgn. Thanks for the link.
I like the site's feature of showing the lowest - average - highest prices found in U.S.: WILLIS, TX SHOSHONE, CA
Prices in Northern Mass are now hovering at $2.99/gallon.
P.S.
That Al-Prime station in Seabrook, NH on Rte 1 is my usual fill-up station. They consistently have the lowest prices around.
