Wow if that's the prevailing price, we are close to our record high. I left for work this morning and out by my house in Fenton (STL suburb), QT was at $2.92, down $.03 from yesterday.

Regular just went to 2.91 this morning. Premium 3.11 . And I think diesel was 3.05. It's been going up so fast I just can't keep track. And I have noticed that it's always increased on Thursdays.

I paid 2.939 for regular yesterday evening in Cape Coral, 2.979 in Tampa this afternoon and a few minutes ago, 2.939 at wal mart. Diesel was 2.859 at wal mart yesterday.
A horse and buggy is really starting to look good right about now. OOOOh sorry, I live in Cape Coral, land of the code gestapo.

i had dropped my daughter off at our local Kindercare this morning. that was at about 9:30. I was here on the forum from 11 am until around 1pm.
at 9:30, BP and Mobil at the same intersection as the daycare facility had regular gas at $3.15 a gallon.
By 1:30, when I went to pick up my daughter, the same gas stations had gone up to $3.25. Another gas station about a mile away was $3.28.
I think I will quit my job and stay home. I figured out today that half of my paycheck goes to gas, the other half to childcare. This gas price hike may end up killing us all in the end.

Well it did go up. $3.14 last night. Happend to get by Sam's Club (where they are always 24 hours behind in changing prices) and still found it at $2.87. Car's lined up all over the lot waiting to fill up.
Supposedly the excuse is refinery problems, tight inventories etc, etc.....

Of course, that little situation with Hugo Chavez probably isn't helping either.
Well you know while a lot of us wring our hands at the increases, I've taken the stance on looking at the incremental side of the increases rather than the overall price. Yeah, when you do that fill up it knocks your socks off, but my philosophy up to now is to look at the incremental increase over $2.00 a gallon. Up until yesterday that's been $1 a gallon and based on my MPG towing, that costs me $30 for every 300 miles I travel.
Now I look at a nice dinner out and realize that I'll drop $30 real easy so maybe it's just a trade off. A meal out or 300 miles. I know this works in my head, it may not be for everyone, and quite honestly on longer trips the differential has a bigger impact.
I think I'm going to start a new thread related to this topic on the impact of higher fuel prices and what you have noticed in your travels that relate to the higher costs.

Oh my! Prices are high in Georgia! I'll have to dig into my piggy bank for the upcoming trip to International!
I recently calculated my gas needs for the round trip to Perry, using $3.00/gallon for pricing and it came out to $730 in gasoline costs. I will have to recalculate using the $3.59 to be on the safe side.
My comment wasn't about gas prices in Georgia. They were in reference to prices in California. Prices this morning were in the $3.90-$3.00 range. By the end of June they will probably be in the #3.25-$3.30 at least. That is only a guess. If the current trend holds out, the $3.59 may be a good number to use for your budget, though.

My plan, will this work. Lets see,we all quit working, we all get on Goverment hand outs welfare, unemployment or what ever you can. Now no one is driving, gas goes down, now we all take our AS and go camping on OUR money that the goverment gave back to us
