As of yesterday pricing varied on the Missouri side of the St. Louis metro area. Reg was $3.59-$3.79. Diesel was about $1 more a gallon. On the Illinois side of the area pricing was just over $4.00 a gallon (due to Illinois gas having having higher fuel taxes). Outstate Missouri gas prices were a little lower than the St. Louis area.

I've come to use apps provided by some of the major gasoline manufacturers to cushion the price slightly. Locally Phillips 66 outlets honor their app which rolls back prices by 10 cents a gallon. No minimum purchases required to receive the discount. BP also has an app that drops prices by 5-10 cents a gallon dependent upon your purchases made the previous month. Minimum total purchase the previous month has to be $80 to receive the discount.

I just checked Gas Buddy and my local Shells are $3.99.
The low is $3.79 and the high is $4.59

Probably safe to add $0.20/gal because by the time you read this it will be higher.

BTW, in my area a lot of Shells are becoming Circle K. Is Shell downsizing?

19 years and 3,800 posts this thread has been going. I finally relented and looked at it today. While it was interesting to look at the first few posts complaining about fuel costs back then...what's the point of this thread and who really cares? What difference does it make, are y'all really planning travel destinations based on fuel prices along the way?

Fuel prices are what they are.

But of course it's a free country and you can spend your time telling folks in Kentucky what the price of fuel is in Idaho if that's your jam. Pointless endeavor from where I'm sitting.

Flame away. Peace out.

Gas prices hit $4 a gallon in metro Detroit and soared even higher in the Upper Peninsula early Monday, surging an average of 42 cents in Michigan in a week and setting a new high for the calendar year.

This may be the best time to camp the busy National Parks. As gas goes up , people cancel trips. Gas in the D,C, area is $ 4.20, and Diesel is $ 5.00 per gallon. California's Gas is touching $ 5,50 a gallon for regular. Maybe a good time to visit Disneyworld if gas hits $ 6.00 for regular. Lines may be only 5 minutes long.

Yes, this thread is so irrelevant that it has only lasted 19 years and 3,800 posts.

Casa Grande AZ. This morning paid 5.49 Reg. Diesel was at $5.79.
Got a question for all EV wanters. EV needs something to produce the electricity. Just read an article about over 2 million tons of wing generators blades been thrown into land fills a year. Can’t be recycled so fill the land with the old blades. Drive by wing generator farms and look at the number of off line generators due to inoperable generators. It’s cheaper to just build another one and let the old one stand until it falls. How many birds are killed each year by green generators?

What is the cost of fuel in your area?

Agreed we all know they’re high and likely high through at least Labor Day.[emoji50] Personally I’am happy to sacrifice, just against any price gouging.

Gas Prices here in San Diego, CA right now just hit an average of $5.71 today, with Diesel not too far behind.

We've had price increases close to $0.10 a day this past week...

I open this thread occasionally just for giggles.....regular gas is currently $2.80 A LITRE here in UK. So over $12 per (imperial) gallon.

The central Florida Panhandle (Santa Rosa Bech) is now up to $4.99 for Diesel. That make it up $3.00 per gallon since the Summer.

I just witnessed $6.10 at a Chevron in San Diego. The parking lot was empty, I pulled up to the pump, then drove away as soon as I read that. I paid $5.49 at a Shell closer to our RV park. Watch out for price gouging!!!

$5.49 for diesel here in central FL today.

I did some calculations. Based on the average number of miles driven per month (over the last 32 months) and my average MPG (towing and not towing combined), if diesel goes to $6.00 a gallon it will cost me an additional $151 per month. While I'm not happy with the price increase it is not a game changer for us.

The blades last more than 20 years and there are now efforts to recycle. Unlike many products sent to landfills by oil and gas producers, the blades are not dangerous when the materials break down. While all machines need maintenance from time to time, sometimes there isn't enough wind to operate them and that doesn't mean the generators are broken. Some birds are killed, but far less than anti-wind generator advocates (often oil, gas, and coal companies) claim. Birds who eat insects are dying off because insecticides are killing off most insects (when was the last time you had to clean them off your windshield?) and the birds can't find them plus the chemicals kill some birds too. Every change is difficult, but the negatives of gas, oil and coal are much higher than wind or solar. And of course, if we don't go to electric, the southwest may be uninhabitable before the end of the century. Living in the southwest, I know temps are quite a bit higher and snow and rainfall are much less in the past 40 years. I like my gas powered SUV and truck, but their time is limited.

They can be recycled. The reasons they are not being recycled as much as they should be have to do with cost (landfills are too cheap) and regulations (in this case, a lack of them)
