Ventura County Calif Lowest Diesel In a 10 mile radius is 3.89 Costco and a competing Chevron but bulk of stations lower to mid 4.00 range.

Filled up my 2002 Mercedes E320 CDI (3.2L Straight six diesel with turbocharger) Estate (station wagon) last night (6 December 2021) in Kings Norton, Birmingham, UK. The 50 liters of premium diesel cost £84.95. After the conversions it was 13.209 gallons and cost $112.66 for a per gallon cost of $8.53.

This car gets close to 30mpg. My 2012 Ram 2500HD Cummins gets barely 11 mpg towing. The projects out close to $853.00 per thousand miles when planning for a road trip. The drive to our summer mountain Airstream RV park is 130 miles one way for a projected fuel cost of $110.89 at this price.

With the distances in the US to get most anywhere, when the fuel prices (gas and or diesel) cross the $6.00 per gallon threshold, I bet the Airstream trailer order backlog will turn into lots of cancellations.

$3.799 for diesel at Chevron in Tucson which was the lowest I paid on a 4 day trip through AZ, NV and CA. In Furnace Creek (Death Valley) diesel was $7.219 on Thanksgiving and was reported to be $7.559 this last Friday (12/3).

The good news is that fuel prices have dropped a bit and experts seem to think they will go down more in coming months. A group of countries released crude from their reserves a few weeks ago. OPEC may have realized they went too far in restricting oil production. Demand may have dropped because of costs and inventories have risen. Natural gas has dropped from $5+ to $3.50. Last winter it was around $2.50, but more than doubled during the year. Fuel prices can be a rough ride for investors.

We go to southeast Utah for two weeks each spring and fall, 230 miles. I don't remember the total fuel cost, but it was very high—perhaps $180 coming out of the dusty recesses somewhere in my mind. Reminded me of our trip to Alaska with the Airstream when fuel cost were half of our expenses. We haven't traveled very far in 4 or 5 years because of family emergencies (really old in-laws) and maybe we would be shocked at fuel costs plus higher campground rates.

In So Calif Chevron is 4.99 per premium unleaded and Costco is at 4.35
I believe prices are always down a bit this time of year due to driving less. Always see a price increase in the spring

Ours has dropped, from 1.77 per litre to 1.72 per litre, for regular.

That is $6.50 per US gallon.
