My $0.09 CDN per kWh is $0.072 US per kWh.

Guess where a rapidly increasing percentage of new vehicles are battery electric?

Guess where all the "electric" cars go when the battery wears out? Sitting in some field because no recycling plans available!!!!

The electric motors and controllers go into classic and special interest cars that are being converted to electric power. Or to recycling.

The batteries go to places like Li-Cycle, which is 100 km from you, after 800,000 km or so. Or they go into less demanding home use, as part of solar or wind systems.

What is the cost of fuel in your area?

Diesel in the suburbs south of Salt Lake City is ranging between $3.55 to $3.85 per gallon.

Mid-grade gas is $3.64 to $3.89

Diesel at the WalMart in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida is $2.97/gallon this morning. Most of the other stations in the area have slipped above the $3 mark.

I bet you'd do real well towing your trailer to Alaska with that electric car. Not very practical for the kind of driving I like to do. But since stupidity reigns it will take over eventually. The left will see to it. In the meantime we've partnered with one of the big 3 to build their battery plant. A 208 kw battery. It's a monster.

This was literally a campaign promise. I was surprised by how many people were OK with it. Supply and demand. Cut supply and the prices go up.

I paid $2.89 in south central MO yesterday.

Last week OPEC decided to increase crude oil production and prices fell for several days and then went back up. Natural gas prices are more than 50% higher than last winter, though I haven't seen anything about why except that they often follow crude prices. Prices across Colorado are in the mid $3 range for regular.

$ 3.89 for regular in Salida, CO.

It's funny to look back at the original post dated 2003. I forgot how low gas prices were back then.
