You're right, and put our fuel costs in perspective. I remember being in London a few years ago and sitting in my buddie's Peugeot 206 as he put over 100 dollars worth of gas into it. We had a diesel Audi rental in '08 and drove all over Spain, got 50mpg and it totally sold me on diesel.

I saw a story this week that confirmed something I'd read some time ago. Prices are lower in the Rockies because there aren't enough pipelines to ship refined fuel out of the area, so we have a glut here.

There is a gigantic terminal in Cushing, Okla., and I believe this where the bottleneck is. The Keystone pipeline lower leg (Cushing to the Gulf Coast) will relieve the bottleneck, our prices will go up to world prices, and the refined product will be shipped out of the country. When the entire pipeline is built, the crude from Canada will go to the Coast and be sent out of the country.

The Keystone pipeline has become totally politicized. It won't help prices here.

Chevron.

$ 4.45 per gallon for regular.

Still makes Honolulu a nice place to visit, especially since cabs are cheap.

We just got to the Denver area yesterday and on the west side, regular was $3.75 at a few stations. It was cheaper in Grand Junction last week.
