Check out AAA Trip Tik Travel Planner
Here is a great site for maps, distances, attactions, campgrounds and gas station/location and prices (24-48 hours old). Road, Travel, and Financial Services - AAA
Zoom in on an area for the gas stations to show. I am planning our lap around America this summer and have found this site to be invaluable.
Happy trails to everyone.

Wytheville, VA
This morning on I-81 in Wytheville, VA, diesel was down to $2.579 and I was lucky enough to have an empty tank. Filled it up for $51.00 and it was no problem waiting in line behind an empty MOHO to do it. That was nice for a change after seeing it for as much as $2.859 nearby.
HAPPY TRAILS

I'm not far behind you Georgia. I remember when I was in second grade (1969) we took a trip from Georgia to California and back pulling a pop-up tent camper. The highest we paid for gas I believe was $.38 and my dad thought it was highway robbery!
I remember there used to be gas wars all the time when we were traveling on vacation. Those were the days! One of the guys who used to work for me moved to Atlanta in 1998 and he remembers gas was $.89/gallon then. Where have the good ole days gone?

Here in So Cal we have had to endure the cost of diesel being almost always higher than regular gas, and many times even higher than premium gas....not any more.....now that gas has hit close to $3.79 for premium and $3.59 for regular, diesel at $3.19 is finally lower than any gas. Too bad it took the prices to double to get a "good deal" on diesel compared to gas.

Maybe of some interest. There is an e-mail going around about a don't buy gas on May 15. If you haven't seen it, here it is.
Subject: Don't pump gas on May 15th
NO GAS...On May 15th 2007 : ...in April 1997, there was a "gas out"
conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped
30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most
places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet
network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies
pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May
15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for
at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all
your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"
Don

Higher on base than in town
Prices tonight were $2.78/gallon. This is down from a day os so ago. The problem is that one the the perks of the military is that the shoppette is supposed to have gas cheaper than off post fuel n gos. We are higher than the off post vendors.
What a nice perk huh?

This week, gas prices in the Portland Maine area were at an all time high for this year at $2.98.

The only message that would send is, "We don't like the price of fuel, but you have us by the goodies and we have no choice but to pay the price one way or the other." And filling up on 5/14 or waiting until 5/16 will clearly prove it.
These type of e-mails are designed to get people to pass them along to "everybody" to clog up servers. Kind of soft cyber terrorism if you ask me.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I felt that it would be nice if we could bite back sometime.

Have to agree with Minnes Mate for the most part. It is a futal attempt to send a message that will never be recieved. At the end of the week who cares even though it was concieved with good intentions.
