Hi Everybody,The price here in Sydney Australia is $1.25 a litre or about $1.10 US a litre. It was $1.50 about 2 years ago.
But thats cheap compared to England.
Lucky Ive got a bubble and its only light to tow.

Ever wonder what gas costs for a 100 mile weekend caravan towing an Airstream in England? I copied the following off the news services this morning:

UK Gas Hits $9.19/Gallon and It's Headed Higher
"Unleaded hit an average of 119.9p a litre for the first time ever, breaking the previous July 2008 record of 119.7p. But some forecourts are already charging 131.9p a litre – just a penny short of the £6 gallon ($9.19).

This is a dark day for Britain’s hard-pressed motorists,” said the RAC. And there is worse to come, warned experts last night. A *perfect storm of rising wholesale costs, the weak pound and more Government tax hikes will propel fuel costs even higher. Drivers were warned to brace themselves for a 5p-a-litre surge in the next three months, pushing unleaded prices to a 125p a litre average by the summer holidays."

Regular leaded is still hovering around a buck a litre here, but my guess is it will take a nice hike up just before the summer travelling season...

I don't know where that story comes from because is may have a different gallon than the US one. The British Imperial Gallon prior to using the metric system was 5 quarts, not 4 as in the US. If the story is talking about that gallon, it's not $9.19, but a "cheap" $7.35.

We found regular at $2.63 in Grand Junction yesterday. Others stations were $2.71 and up.

Gene,

A gallon is always four quarts.

Having said that, Imperial gallons are four Imperial quarts and US gallons are four US quarts.

Your honour, I rest my case.

On rebuttal, an Imperial gallon is 5 US quarts. US quarts are trim and not bloated like Imperial quarts.

Since the Imperial gallon is no longer used, does it really exist? Has it gone to another dimension?

The only place an Imperial gallon is still used to my knowledge, is for beer, and only in Ireland.

They drink it by the gallon there, apparently...

Rebuttal wins, case closed!

I'm glad the Imperial gallon is still alive and robust, but judging from the mileage I get while towing, the U.S. gallon has been reduced to about 2 quarts.
