I wish it was only that much, it's $3.20 a gallon for regular unleaded here in Kalifornia.

Wholesale gasoline closed at $2.26. Several months ago it was around $1.90-2.00. That approximately 30˘ difference is showing up at retail.

On the east side of San Antonio diesel is running on average $2.79; unleaded $2.53. Being local I can usually find a station where their diesel is getting old in their tanks and can get it for $2.69. Several months I had no problem finding diesel for $2.39. CNN said its the futures traders driving the price of oil upward.

Over a 2 month window crude is actually less then it was in early Jan. 2010 but it's gone up and down. Hopefully the $80 barrier will keep pushing back and we can still avoid $3.00 fuel for the summer. Locally fuel has teetered, up one week down the next. We're currently at $2.51 where I live and $2.99 where I work. I fueled up in Denver last week for $2.38.

This should make you Americans feel better...

Here in Ontario, Canada (Toronto area) taking the current value of converting US dollars to Canadian and litres to US gallons, we are paying (drum roll, please);

US$3.75 per gallon!

And that's with our dollar relatively strong against yours. A CAD is worth about US$0.97 today, and is forecast to go to par no later than summertime.

Our dollar was only US 72˘ a few years ago. Canadians travelling in the US then felt gas was almost free there.

diesel in my area is right around $3.00/gallon.i suspect if it starts to go higher the rv business is going to have a longer slope to climb coming out of our current reccession.i beleive peoples spending habits are really affected by the price of fuel.
