$2.31 at City Market with 10¢ discount in Delta, Colorado, yesterday. Wholesale gasoline closed at $1.93 yesterday and that means retail will continue to rise even if wholesale prices stay the same. The spread between wholesale and retail is historically narrow right now.
Larry, you said some people win and some lose. That's the zero sum game. It doesn't have to be that way. We can find better ways than us against them.
As for Illuminati, if there's some wrestler using that name, I never heard about it before. My obscure reference was to conspiracy theories, i.e., that there is a group of individuals somewhere running the whole show, thus the Tripartite Commission, the Illuminati, or Dick, George, etc. Dick, George, etc., didn't control it, they were controlled by the oil and gas industry to some degree.
Now that I've had my say, let's stick to gas prices.

This from a man that spent his life in an adversarial occupation? Go right ahead! The world (and oil prices) are the result of an auction. The highest bidder gets the item. You're welcome to come up w/ a better solution unless it involves my paying for your gasoline!

When my boys were younger, they were fans of pro wrestling. Someone came up w/ the "New World Order" as the new motto or slogan for his team. Steve Austin was a pro wrestler. Anyhow, Illuminati, New World Order, conspiracy theories all came together--at least in my head.

Spoken like a true conservative, Gene. It might even make a good bumper sticker.

Back here in Connecticut the SHELL station down the road from the office has regular pump your own cash for $3.79 a gallon and diesel is at $3.87! What is worse, there are actually people in line paying it!

Hey Stanislav,
One needs only to read the preceding posts in this thread to see that the rumor of the death of American capitalism is greatly exaggerated. Out here in the wild west (Phoenix basin) diesel is between $2.19 and $2.48. Saw those on my morning commute. I paid $2.24 for B99 earlier in the week. Poor rickandsandi back in Conn are really getting clipped. I just don't see the hand of comrade Barack or Barney (who has not been promoted to senator) exerting much influence on our beloved fuel petro prices...

Hey Y'all,
I like the chatter on oil, conspiracy and capitalism...this is what is good and right about our way of life.
Don't be distracted from the ultimate goal...neutralizing that gas cost long term...
First observation: that call of $200Bbl oil is not going to happen!
Second: yes, you could have shorted oil and made a bundle, gas paid for forever.
Third: No worries, there are new resources being found everyday, i.e. Brazil.
Fourth: I reiterate, $2.25 unleaded average for next decade looks like equilibrium.
Don't be scared, be prepared!
P.S. that drop from 143 to 31 was enough to pay the gas bills indefinitely, no worries!
Keep on Keepin on!

I think that whenever I feel moved to post here, I'll just leave it in C$/litre. There are lots of Canadians on the forum, and since the exchange rate can have a dramatic effect on the cost (but not for Canadians) the Canadian rate will have more relevance for aall that are interested.
I paid $0.94/litre yesterday in Carleton PLace, Ontario. And that was a bargain, compared to the 99 cents/litre I saw all over Ottawa. Yuck!

Northwest Austin today: Diesel: $2.49/gal. That's a .20 cent increase in one week.
