We are in Gulfport, MS for a few days and saw diesel at 3.65

Going to New Orleans next Tues then the Mardi Gras Rally. Does anyone have the fuel prices there. Will they hike it up for the Super Bowl?

I can't believe this thread is still active after 10 years. I wish fuel prices were as they were in 2002.

Just returned from a 2,950-mile road trip with the Silver Bullet - I use 91 octane in my TV and fuel averaged $3.34/gal. Highest paid was in Death Valley - $5.26/gal!

MontyV,
I think that gas prices are something that folks just like to talk about. However, if anyone really wants to see what is going on at the pump or crude prices, a source like Find the Lowest Gas Prices in Your Area - GasPriceWatch.com will fill them in quickly. This site works to show the local and national picture as well as trends shown on graphs, etc.

If you're heading east, it's $2.89 for regular in Missoula; $3.49 for diesel; cheaper at Costco.

Gas on Sunday was $3.55 about 8pm when I took my mom home. On the way back home, in less than an hour, the same gas station, Quiktrip, was at 3.69. Luckily the 7-11 around the next block hadn't been given the word and was still at $3.55.

Gas prices have been going up 10 cents/gallon a week now with 15 cents this week being the biggest jump. Why don't they get it over and done with and push it up to $3.99 for both gas and diesel. I saw one station, yesterday and the difference between gas and diesel was only 20 cents a gallon now, but today diesel is $3.99.

These gas stations I've mention are also the most reasonably priced. Chevron and Shell around here are always 10 to 15 cents higher.

I read gas will peak at $4 by April and by summer it will edge down into the mid $3 range.

Guess the oil companies are really trying to pressure Obama to let the Keystone XL pipeline pass. Unfortunately, it won't help prices here in the US because the oil companies will ship it overseas, they'll even refine it and ship it. Canada is swimming in the filthy bituminous black tar oil and their gas prices are still higher than the US.

And yet fuel prices in Montana, Idaho are around $3/gal. Maybe the wave hasn't hit them yet. Seems very strange. Hit the high population centers with high fuel prices. But I like to vacation in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Keep the prices low there.

Southern California gas prices at a nearby Mobil station.

Regular $ 4.34 per gallon

Medium Test $ 4.44 per gallon

Hi Test $ 4.54 per gallon.

But.....gas stations are nice.

They used to accept the pink slip on your car, but today...........they take pink slips on houses.

Welcome to California, where are highways are very busy, with trucks and containers ............LEAVING.
