Price jumping all over in STL. As noted in another post, they are blaming it on local price wars. We jumped up to 1.67 for reg and within 24 hours it was back down to $1.54. We've seen some local stations as low as 1.37 which according to the news, is below the retailers cost.

Wholesale gas was at 90¢ on Friday. It dropped 6¢ that day.

The only way we are going to get ourselves off petroleum, most of which comes from overseas is to stop using it for cars, trucks, heating, generating electricity. We will eventually run out of natural gas too. Thus high gas prices are essential for national security and for global warming issues. I don't like paying a lot for gas either, but there are larger issues here. I know some of you don't believe there is a global warming problem, but think about the national security part of this.

$2.19/per for reg. We are still the highest around. The Gov. & Att. Gen. are "still" look'n into it.

Global Warming..anecdotal evidence only.
It had been 75 years, that Lake Erie hadn't frozen over when we moved here 15 years ago, it's been open 5 times since 1995.

I paid $1.05 in Littleton outside of Denver today, that was after a 40 cent per gal discount at Safeway. Still $1.45 would have been the least I've paid in several years. What's not funny is our local fuel prices. We're less then 1 hour west of this station and the lowest price between Summit and Eagle county stands at $2.02 with some stations still at $2.39. We always get gouged during ski season but this is the worst disparity in price I've seen to date.
If anyone wants to know how fuel prices are set by Safeway, each mgr. is required to fill out 2 price surveys daily for their local competition. They're a big company but they don't move on price until someone else does and they try to set their price to the average of the survey. Food pricing is a little more complicated. If anyone was really interested I could explain it, but it's fairly boring.

Down 4 cents.

Hi, today at the local Shell Station gas prices dropped another four cents. I give myself some credit for the drop in prices because, my wife and I usually notice the lower prices while riding past the gas station on our Tandem Bike. We cut down on driving, and it seems like the last tank of gas was, well, I don't even remember when I last tanked up.

Regular...................$1.75

Mid-Grade...............$1.85

Premium..................$1.95*

Diesel.....................$2.39

As for global warming: Science and history has shown that the world's ice has been slowly disappearing long before any fuel oils were burned by man. I think it is just the normal life cycle of our planet Earth, sort of like some old men going bald. [my opinion]

I don't think to many would disagree in the Golbal warming part, Just how much is contributed by man.

Remember the ozone hole in the south pole... Caused by man, gonna be hudge. that was back in the early 80's

O wait it has always been there and shrinks and grows and wasn't caused by cars...

The Earth warms and Cools it's facts.... Now we are contributing to that in some way. But so do forrest fires and volcanoes and other natural events. It's just hard to tell.

And we won't run out of gas while I'm alive... I know that's selfish of me, But then we need to go to Alaska and get that oil..

Sorry off topic $1.65 in cedaredge

Prices in East Texas

Prices here vary from 1.61 to 1.69. I was in Shrevport La. yesterday and the prices hovered around $1.51. I don't understand since we have a refinery here in Tyler.
