Hi, actually yesterday, we finally broke the $2.00 barrier at our local Shell Station.
Regular.......................$1.99
Mid-Grade...................$2.09
Premium......................$2.19*
Diesel.........................$2.69
*Even though all of my vehicles use Premium we are still excited about it. My reports on fuel prices may not excite you as much as it does us, but my reports are from Southern California which is always higher to begin with and I won't report prices from the jippo cheap gas stations in which I won't use or buy their gas. [Costco, Sam's Club, Arco, Albertsons, Vons, Joe's Dairy, or any other No-Name brands.]

Since I did not read this entire thread I have a stupid question. When I bought my diesel Silverado three years ago, diesel was running a penny or two less than regular. Other than a change to lower sulphur diesel since then, has anyone heard any rational reason why diesel now averages about $1 more per gallon than unleaded?
The only clues I've heard that comes close to having a ring of truth is..
Our diesel fuel is now competing on the world market for consumption and, those markets in China and India are willing to pay more to satisfy their demand for the supplies.
Same thing happened earlier this year with the "rice" market.
Diesel price as seen tonight, 2.83$

$1.83.9 in Visalia, Ca. for reg. Did not think I would ever see the price this low again after the outrageous prices during the summer. Hope those prices never come again.

Wolverine, Europe exports gasoline to the US, but not diesel. Because there are a lot of diesel cars there, they don't have excess to export. As even more Europeans buy diesel cars and as it becomes more common to buy a diesel car in the US, guess what—diesel costs even more.
Here in San Diego $1.71 for reg. for my usual place to purchase. I was told it is less in other places in S.D. During the peek, a place here in S.D. where houses start at 3mil and go up, their local gas station was charging over $7.50 a gal. Can U say bend me over !?
