Hi, today at the local Shell station gas prices dropped again, But Diesel hasn't changed since 10/31/08. And since 11/03/08 everything is under $3.00 per gallon; Didn't think I would see this.
I truly hate to do this (no, I don't...) but the old reliable Quik Trip on I-70 at exit 14 in Independence, MO, was $1.71 for unleaded gas this morning.

At that differential, I would be way ahead of the game with my deezul...it is more like $.70/gal diff here...still an advantage, particularly when towing and/or on the highway.
Let's see, at $2.00 per gallon or so, and about 260 miles to Capital Reef NP, and 11.5 mpg, 45 gallons for the round trip, $90 for gas compared to around $170 6 weeks ago, so I'm saving $80 which means we can go out to eat a couple of times in the nearby town of Torrey. Of course food is fuel, so my fuel costs will be the same. On the other hand, I get to go camping at the NP for half price because I'm so old, so I think it'll be $5/night. Gotta pack up and spend some money to get the economy going. Better do it now, because by next spring, people will be driving again and the price will go up and we'll be looking at November, 2008, as the glory days.
Just north about 50 miles in WI I heard it's something like this:
$2.29 -87
$2.39 -89
$2.49- 93
Diesel $3.12
All I know is that it cost me $30 less to fill my Impala a few days ago and it was a VERY welcomed sight...FINALLY!
