West Coast Ideas...

Hi Greg,
Well I'm new to this too but here are a couple ideas (maybe too late to book into but well worth checking out) on the Oregon Coast - Beachside State Rec Site is an awesome, small waterfront campground with some full hookups, Beverly Beach State Park is a very nice large CG just a short walk out to the beach. If you are inland and need a place off the interstate (I-5) check out Champoeg State Park in the middle of Oregon wine country beautiful spot, lots to do, see and taste! Check out this link for more info on state parks in Oregon:

Good luck on your western journey
Monty

If coming to West Coast in the summer... take your laptop and study the maps and such as where to camp. Many places fill quickly, so find a spot before 3:00 p.m. each day if you don't have reservations. Always have a back up plan.

If you are looking for specific areas and need ideas, post the "kinds" of camp spots you like. Full hookups? NFS campgrounds and boondocking? Will help get you the right answers!

Are you WBCCI members? Some have local courtesy parking, check the WBCCI directory for info. So do some forum members.

Many parks limit at 25 feet, so you might find some that are tight... There are several threads on camping in the west... you might try these for ideas as well:

Using the search tool on the menu bar above, look for Bob Thompson's several threads on camping for free in various states, many of them are western states. He has provided quite a service for us forum folks. You might want to print these off to tuck inside your Airstream manual or other trip journal, ~G

Pacific Coast Hwy

I received some really good travel tips on traveling the PCH and Hwy 101. See http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...tml#post329040 sorry, I couldn't figure out how to shorten the link.

As you'll see, a number of members made some really good suggestions on where to stay, and what highway to travel on.

I'll look forward to reading your travel experiences, and please post pictures. You're in for a great trip.
