Western Ohio - Indiana Trip Ideas

We just took delivery of our new Airstream. Love it! The folks at Nature & Me RV in Traverse City are terrific.

We are planning to show the rig its birthplace on Oct 8 with a tour of the Airstream factory then head back home to Grand Rapids, MI by way of Indiana.

Any recommendations for interesting routes, things to see, and campgrounds?

Thanks for your help!! john & betsy

We really enjoy Western Ohio, Amish country, with lovely handmade things/homemade things such as wooden items, jams, etc. This is a good time of year for produce from farmers markets, as well.

Same is true for shipshewanna, Indiana. Great cheeses, sausage, meats, bulk items at good prices and lots of handmade items at good prices. Pick up a brochure that tells you where things are on the side roads, such as weavers, and remember that everything is closed on Sunday's.

The Amish-Mennonite museum is also very interesting.

We loved sleeping bear dunes near traverse city, Michigan.

Should be a lovely time of year for your inaugural trip. Enjoy your airstream and travel safe.

We like older amusement parks and our daughter was younger then but this was a good time. Nothing fancy - just an older style amusement park with wooden frame roller coasters and a relaxing day. They didn't have the campgrounds when we visited so we stopped and made a day of it before going on to the Indiana Dunes. Great park with great sight seeing. Just don't go on a summer holiday weekend.
