Proud to be the minority

I am not quite sure where this thread is going but my wife and I are very proud to be the minority on the road and in the parks. We certainly appreciate the positive comments we get from other campees. We have owned fifth wheels and other pull trailers and our 2003 Classic 30 surpasses all others we have owned. We feel blessed to have her.

We always see more AS-ers when we're NOT towing...

During our 2,100 mile trip from Texas to California and back this past summer, we saw two in other parks, and six on the highways. If Airstreams really are less than1% of travel trailers, that'd seem about right! 😄

I drive from Idaho to Newberry, FL twice per year (roundtrips)....half of the time pulling my little Daisy behind. Whether on I-80, I-70, I-75, or state highways I am always amazed how very few ASs I see. So in answer to you question, I would guess no more than 5-8% of the camping trailers are ASs (may not be the best acronym)....if that many. Safe travels. jon

Same here - we like to camp at KOA's in general and so far this year we have yet to see another Airstream the entire time we are parked. We'll see what happens when we go to Buena Vista for our season end trip

I may see one or two on the road, like falling stars, but campsite? Rarely, maybe only onces, and it was a vintage. That is why I joined the WBBC, I hope one day, our schedule permits us to go.

If you want to see a park with lots of Airstreams, plus other cool aluminums, check out Enchanted Trails, just west of Albuquerque on I-40.

There were three other newer AS, and a triple axle Avion, at the Raystown Lake COE split between five loops last weekend.

A couple of weeks ago we were at Elk Neck SP and had two other AS in the same small loop!

We just came back from a trip to East Glacier at a KOA, there were 3 Airstreams, 4 counting us.....I cannot tell you the names all the behemoths that were near but we made contact with all the airstream folks.....Airstreams definitely stand out

Just got back from 9,700 mile three month trip. Mainly Idaho, WY and MT. At one small park in Stanley ID the majority of RVs were AS at one point. I believe it was 7-8 of us. In Couer d'Alene ID there were two 30' full timers right next to me and a Safari one off from our gang. It seems the further you go where a lot of miles are in play to get there the ratio of AS go proportionally up. Kind of makes since.

Almost the only time we ever see another Airstream at a campground is at an Airstream rally.
We occasionally see 1 other Airstream in the campground or an Airstream or 2 in a neighboring campground.
The most Airstreams we have ever seen in a campground other than our own is 3 if it isn't an Airstream rally.

Airstreams in Florida

Try Travelers Rest Resort. It is a park built by airstream volunteers. It allows other brands but their are still a lot of airstreams there. Jan,feb, March is the high season so you should get reservations 😄
