We're off like a herd of girdles!
We're leaving this AM for a week of 'Streamin'. We plan on staying first at Shawnee State (park near Bedford, PA,) then off the the Mother Ship for a Wednesday morning appointment to get a couple of leaks resolved on the Basecamp.
Woohoo!!!!!

Sounds like a great trip. Take lots of photos and post some. Safe travels.
We would also like a report on your Mothership visit. We are planning to do it soon.

Sounds like fun...
But, a herd of girdles? Huh?
That's a new one...

I've heard of a terd of hurtles...
Aren't those called Spoonerisms - when the letters on words get switched?
Hmm, not sure. But I guess "herd of girdles" is more creative than just switching letters.

So, how does one become a girdle herder?

Probably some relations in Mr. Whipple's family tree... the one with two branches... a family thing, I guess...

Quite simple, really. I earned my "girdle herder" title back in the day when I played saxophone in the house band of a strip club.
We wound up going well past our intended target of Shawnee State Park today. We were making real good time, and it was way too early to call it a day, so we pressed onward.
The weather took a turn later in the afternoon and we started looking for a place to park. The first CG was a state park that had plenty of sites, but we passed as we kinda wanted some electic for the night.
The second place we looked was Fox Run Campground near New Straton. The CG office was closed and the instructions on the door said to pull into the field down below and stay there until morning. We cruised the CG, didn't like it, split and just kept going west.
Liz is calling, time for me to make the Margaritas!

Spoonerisms
Dave -- do you remember Archie Campbell on Hee Haw and his spoonerisms. I recall Beeping Sleauty and the Pea Little Thrigs. You can even find an audio version of Rindercella on the internet!
We could have used an extra herdle girder on that bridge in Minneapolis this week...
Bob, you'll always remember this reaction to your most worthy trip report!

No, but I've read (or heard about?) a book about Spooner. He was (IIRC) a preacher who was known for botching words, someone started writing them down and a book was born. Some pretty funny ones in there. It's been years...
Dave
On edit: Here are some examples of "original" Spoonerisms. There have quite naturally been additions to the originals.

OK, dinner is over...
... and the dishes are done.
If anyone hasn't bought one yet, don't delay, go get yourself a Coleman rechargable blender. There's nothing like a frozen Margarita after a long day on the road.

Thanks for the heads up on that. The shielding on my old Cold War Era nuclear model was questionable (Cuban), and the weight was an issue . I’ll have to get one of these.

Hi Guys,
thought I would put my oar in on this one:
What's the difference between a constipated owl and a poor marksman?
One "shoots and can't hit and the other one has blue eyes!"
If you want to know the difference between A MAGICIAN'S WAND AND A POLICEMAN'S BATON - PM me!
Monty Python also did a wonderful sketch on this where a guy had rewritten Shakepeare. Not really able to pin it down as a spoonerism or a Malaprop. It's more about comic effect!
A shroe! A shroe! My dingkom for a shroe!
be ot, or not be ot, tath is the neosquit?

Spartan by our standards...
... but we're out early in the AM, so we don't want to set up too much stuff.
