Welcome to the Breakfast Show.......

....or we were somewhere around (?) on the edge of (?) when the coffee began to take hold.

Maiden voyage in a few days. Stay tuned for further underdevelopments?

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.

Is it safe to say at this point? I mean, my Airstream will probably stick out at the planned destination like "a diamond in a mule's arse" as a fellow 'streamer put it.

I wasn't paranoid until another RVer said I should be careful about revealing "too much information" before leaving since I am female and travelling alone. (Jeeze, that might be "too much information" in itself).

How about it if I post the pictures and narrative while I'm there, safely in the bosom of fellow travellers. If anyone has a nefarious inclination, by the time they get there, I'll be long gone.

I am not inferring this site is loaded with perverts, serial killers, and the like....but it is still the internet.

Am I right about this, do you think?

Hmmm never thought of that!
The "mystery destination" will make the pics more exciting anyway! Just make sure your driveway is not in the background.... That doesn't count! Lol!

Maybe I shouldn't mention it, but you are driving on the wrong side of the road.

*hint* I think there are quite a few bats there.

Aside from that, think of FAN as a woman of mystery.

rich, can you start the thread, "How to Remove a Bat?" - will save me a bit of time.

Just have to drop into dealership to get a fresh-water hose and sewer-line extension, and I'm all ready to go.

This is exciting. Finally!

Rich, you only have to put bat removal threads in the pet forum if you're planning to keep them after removal.

As for the paranoia question, you could always show what you are doing and where you are doing it after it's all done. In the past, I have waited until the trip was over before posting I was going (looonnnggg story).

I'll post some of the enroute pictures when I reach the destination, overlander.

I do not want to ever become "paranoid." Like many things, I think we must embrace personal responsibility, especially when it comes to not being victimized.

Spent a couple of hours at the dealership learning about water-pressure regulators, extended sewer couplings etc. I have no regrets about buying new from my dealership; they are always willing to help. Something a newbie could really benefit from. I did not know a water-pressure regulator is a good thing. Otherwise, "you might blow your plumbing out."

Better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck with your jaunt, I hope all goes well.

I don't mind being the one to tell you that your Airstream already has a built in water pressure regulator because I bought one before I found out, too! It's mentioned in the user manual. Mind you, I don't suppose having two will be a problem and they're only a couple of dollars to buy.

I thought so too, and mentioned that to the guy in the parts department.
Oh well. Now I'm doubly protected.

That is the downswing of a dealership that sells every RV under the sun.
Those in sales/parts are not always familiar with the eccentricities of an AS.

There is a plus side to having an additional pressure regulator. If you mount it at the campground spigot, it keeps your water hose from being subject 24/7 to whatever pressure happens to be at the campground. They are usually reasonable, but I have seen them get pretty high.

I think too much caution will limit the experience. Living in fear can be debilitating. To each her own.

Well, the FAN is almost ready to go.

Figuring out the anti-sway bar installation was a bit of a PITA. They have to be aligned a certain way; othewise, they won't fit into the holes. Of course, it was pouring rain when I was fighting with this; am soaked to the skin!

The weather is supposed to clear tomorrow. (keeping the fingers crossed like the safety chains). This is the Thanksgiving long weekend in Canada, so am going to get a jump on the rush.

This is the first time in about twenty years I have not cooked a big Thanksgiving dinner. Oh well. Things change.

Guess what's in the Airstream freezer.......

Is apro pos. Did you know Swanson got their idea for TV dinners from airliner meals served on aluminum trays? This will suit the "Fly at Night's" vintage airliner theme well.

Am excited about my first trip. Hope it will be the beginning of many happy contrails.

Next update: From the RV Resort. It's a fairly new one in a very scenic location - will tell you all about it.
