I agree - he deserves that tranquility.

I don't understand people who think they are entitled to a piece of someone, celebrity or not.

Regret. We certainly didn't stop wars. A lot has changed though the anti-change party wields a lot of power. Colorado is a middle of the road state, but has recognized marijuana prohibition is impossible. Civil liberties are in danger—voting, privacy are 2 problem areas (NSA is on every thread, but never posts anything). Society is not static and moves forward with difficulty, but for hundreds of years has moved in a progressive direction.

"Yeah..... well, I didn't get it, did I?"

Regret.

This clip from Five Easy Pieces is the ultimate metaphor....

The irony for me is that hippies were anti-establishment, but still needed electricity from the establishment to power their electric guitars!

Air guitars don't need any electricity.

Regrets in that concepts like peace, love and understanding has morphed into a liberal, socialist give away programs that are more of a hand out than a hand up. Regrets that some of the ideals have turned into less than ideal realities. I could go on, but then lines get drawn and it moves us away from the unity we have, which is AS ownership and enjoyment.

I guess I succumbed to some of those liberal ideations tonight, dirigible....
used the outdoor shower with nothing but the moon and stars overhead.

However, there were no hand ups (or outs)....
I did it alone.

(Fellow Airstreamers, if you get a chance, try it. It's really nice. There are some portable shower enclosures, if you must).

Good for you! How many of us can say we have done this?!

Ummm, not me.

FWIW, we were in a forest campground recently in Vermont that had listed in its' rules "no public nudity". We wondered if this referred to outside showering or other events sans clothing.

Vermont does not have a law forbidding nudity; they only limit it to areas "where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy." Which apparently includes most wilderness areas. I guess the campground had to post the "No public nudity" rule because state law doesn't prohibit it.

I first found out about this quirk of Vermont law while planning to do America's Great Loop, which includes Lake Champlain. On the AGLCA Forums, one member told how he chased off a party boat that moored too close and kept him awake all night. He finally drove them off by attending to all of his boating chores in the nude; he admits it wasn't a pretty sight. When the party boaters called the law on him, the state trooper told the party boaters that on one's own boat, anchored in the middle of a lake, he had a reasonable expectation of privacy and so he wasn't doing anything wrong. Instead, the party boaters were cited for invading his privacy!

I gave up aspirations of doing the Great Loop in favor of Airstreaming, but I never forgot that story.

Protagonist....you can come visit VT in winter. We generally don't run around nude that time of year...too much shrinkage going on.

Moved to VT 15 years ago and have yet to run into a random nude person. Guess I am hanging out in all the wrong places. Have yet to see the nude person striding down main street in Bristol. We have "Elvis" and the annual out house race but dang no naked people.

I don't actually have a hankering to flash the great outdoors— and people of all genders thank me for that bit of discretion— I just remembered the story and thought the AirForums readers might get a chuckle out of it, since FaN broached the subject .

About 20 years ago in Canyonlands, we "sun showered" while tent camping in the wilderness. Those sun showers don't get very hot causing a short shower and excessive shrinkage.

We've never used the outdoor shower—in fact, the hose cracked and wouldn't work anyway. Ue it before it cracks.

Going further back, there are a lot of hot springs in the wilderness in the west. Nudity at them is normal and while everyone tales a look when someone new shows up, it is not exciting and everyone is comfortable with it. We went to a lot of hot springs more than 20 years ago and if you're up for a long hike, it is a relaxing experience. Conundrum HS near Aspen is an 8 mile hike up to about 11,000'. A beautiful place, first visited by me in 1976 before it got too popular. Now the FS has lots of rules and it got crowded. Nothing quite like a FS employee naked except for his hat trying to enforce the rules. I asked him where his badge was. He didn't appreciate that.
