My wife makes scrambled eggs with cheese, onions and green pepper—I used to dislike scrambled eggs until she started making them. Neither over- nor undercooked.
I notice that below this box where it has some thread suggestions that are supposedly similar, it says "Using frig while in transit". What an interesting idea.

Breakfast is quite often my big meal of the day now. Especially when the weather is too hot to do much in the afternoon other than the instant cold beefinabottle meals.
This is about as tasty and healthy as you can get.
Start with a generous squirt of Olive oil in the large fry pan, cut up one green pepper, a handful of mushrooms, and a small onion, and after that is ready, lay in two slices of multigrain bread, pulling the veggies on to the top of the bread. Now turn this over, and add 3 eggs, and a generous handful of grated cheese.
All this then floats on a pond of #1 Canada Maple Syrup, with a fresh cut tomato around the border.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGOOOOD!

Dave, a "pond" of maple syrup is healthy? The rest sounds good.
"Beefinabottle"? Does it come with maple syrup?
I've heard it is hot and dry there this year—hot and dry here means 100˚F. and 15% humidity, so I'm hoping when we go to Vancouver Is. next month, hot and dry there doesn't that hot and that dry.

Some Maple Syrup Facts.
Health benefits of real maple syrup are far more comprehensive than you might expect. The only product in our diet coming directly from a plant’s sap, this natural sweetener features over 54 antioxidants that can help delay or prevent diseases caused by free radicals, such as cancer or diabetes. In addition, maple syrup features high levels of zinc and manganese, keeping the heart healthy and boosting the immune system.
It is not surprising that an increasing number of health-conscious consumers bypass white and brown sugar, stevia, agave syrup and honey in the grocery store in favor of pure maple syrup for health benefits in their diet. Did you know that pure maple syrup has the same beneficial classes of antioxidant compounds found in berries, tomatoes, tea, red wine, whole wheat and flax seed? The sheer quantity and variety of identified compounds with documented health benefits qualifies maple syrup as the next champion food. Benefits of Maple Syrup ›
"beefinabottle" also comes in maple flavour!
The HOT AND DRY situation is so bad that, by the time you get her Gene, you won't have to take a ferry, you will be able to drive over!
So bad you can't even fish.

Thanks Dave for the maple syrup facts. I do put some in granola when I make a batch big enough to last 3 months. And Barb adds some when she makes Irish Oats.
I'll be glad to drive over and get my $480 back from the ferry company.
Glad to hear you are taking a major trip. Are you taking the MH? I might pass you on the ocean floor.

Gene: Yes, I am taking the Clipper, and I have a new navigator on trial!!!!!!!!!!!
for a 45 to 90 day, familiarization and training course?
Maggie: The Maple syrup is on the bottom and the rest of the concoction floats on that. If you have never tried it, the green pepper and Maple Syrup make a great combination. A little like sweet and sour.
I like maple syrup, but one can limit the amount to individual taste.

A new navigator! Good for you. Hope it works out. There's more to it than reading a map.

I like seeing the health benefits to REAL Maple syrup Dave. Thanks. But I often wonder if during the processing and making the sap into syrup many of these things are lessened or completely eliminated in the heating process. I have some that was provide by a friend that spends some time working with a processing house in Vermont. I'll surely try your concoction one of these days. For my taste the darker the better.
PS: Also curious, what is Beefinabottle ???

The health benefits are analysed from the finished product.

I don't mind!
On a more serious matter, massey is right. This is for Gene and others planning to come to B.C.
The heat, drought, and forest-fire situation here is critical. The FaN was covered with a fine coating of ash this a.m. If anyone has a breathing problem, it's not a good time to visit unless we get some rain (and none is forecast). There is a total campfire ban. Worse, the creeks are running dry and this could devastate the salmon-fishing industry, as the fry need a certain depth of water to survive.
I live fairly close to Conair. Their fleet of water/fire-retardant tankers is cleaned out. The pilots and mechanics are going 24/7, and cannot keep up. Over 140 wildfires in the province at present. Some towns have already been evacuated.
Heart-breaking.....

A maple syrup story
We are travelling northwest on #16 out of Tete Jaune Cache, midday, 9 11 2011, and Heather wants a break to make lunch. As I am letting the Clipper roll down a nice grade, Heather spots a rest stop, down by the river, and insists we pull in there. I brake hard to make the turn into "SMALL RIVER" REST Area, and park in an almost deserted parking lot. One other Class C is there and the couple are sitting at the picnic table watching us pull in.
I am updating my logbook as Heather goes to the door to exit, but she suddenly stops and calls me. ---- "Come quick David! Quick!"
I jump up and come to the door to witness a "STREAKER" jogging down the entrance, and making a circle around the outhouses and jogging back up across the highway, disappearing down an entrance opposite the Rest Area entrance.
We stand there and laugh about what has just happened with the other couple that are visiting from Australia.
"That is the most wildlife I have seen in 3 months of travel" the lady laughs.
As we visit, and watch the road, a car accelerated out from the other side of the road and disappears up the hill, heading east.
"I bet he took a swim in the river and was just air drying himself? I comment.
Now to the Maple Syrup story, We were returning from the farm in Eastern Ontario, and had two large 1 Litre jugs of Canada #1 Maple Syrup. Heather asked these folks from Australia, if they had ever had real maple syrup, and they answered to the negative.
So it was with pleasure, we gifted to our visitors a jug of the best, fresh from Fulton's Sugar Bush, in what is now called Mississippi Mills, Ontario.
The photo is 'Small River Rest Area" and just a capture of a 1 Litre jug of MS.
(Photo date and time is wrong, as Heather's camera needed to be reset.)
