I Miss my Trailer

Still without the FaN!

Am waiting for one of the window arms from Airstream. No one at the dealership bothered to inquire if a replacement window came with or w/o the arms.

Haven't had a good sleep in almost a month. (Am a p/t driveway camper - have slept in the trailer almost every night since purchase). I have been really sick since the first of May - can't shake a chest cold. I think this is due to lack of sleep. The trailer is also my "corporate" HQ for my little food company which is creating a business hardship.

This is annoying!!!

Good to hear from you FaN, but sorry to hear you are still without your trailer.

Glad to hear the food business is still up and running, too.

Not getting enough sleep is so debilitating. I used to be one of those people, for years, whose sleep disrupted at the slightest provocation.

My doctor gave me a prescription for Trazadone after Doug died last year, and I take it every night. He is very, very cautious with prescribing medications, but gave me this and said it is something I could take for the rest of my life without side effects,

Very safe and very inexpensive, and the quality of my sleep has improved immensely. Just a thought.

Drop in again soon. We miss your wit here.

Like I might do....

"have slept in the trailer almost every night since purchase"

Yup, this is exactly what I would do. But, only an AS.

I fully understand the desire to get out on the road with one's trailer. A lot of other activities have held me down, but, now, in only five days....heading out.

FaN...hope you are feeling better and have your trailer on the road soon.

Dr. Maggie, might see you this weekend.

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for the Trazadone tip. I will ask for it if things don't improve. The flying friend also recommended over-the-counter Melatonin (is one sleeping aid he can take while flying).

So good to hear you are busy with your family - getting out there and doing things too.

The food biz is up and down. Right now I'm looking for a new kitchen. My present rent is too high; have to reduce the overhead!

Hi Msmoto,

oooooo.....sounds good. Five days to freedom! The Espresso Express?

I would be happy just to have the FaN on the driveway again.

Have fun out there, and keep us posted.

On the road Friday

We got our Airstream in February. Have been on two, short, weekend trips.

Ahhhhh, finally, we are leaving Friday for 9 glorious days of fun in Florida. I can't wait!!!!

I have been outside this morning, giving the gal another bath. When we removed the outer protective panoramic windows to clean, I couldn't believe the filth!!! She is all clean and shiny and ready to hit the road.

Now, if I can figure out some easy meals......I will be all set!! Thanks for indulging my excitement!!fan

Looking good from my end! Always nice to meet up with friends. And, this is usually what I do on my trips, meet up with friends. After all, what is life about except to enjoy our relationships with others?

oooooo....Ara. We remember that excitement. And there's nothing like heading down the highway with that shiny new Airstream bobbing in the rear-view mirror.

As to easy meals, Airstreamers are big fans of foil fire dinners. If campfires are permitted, stick your favourite protein along with some veggies and potatoes in foil, wrap it tightly, and place on outskirts of that campfire (or on grill over fire).

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! Please take some pictures and post on the Breakfast Show!

Meanwhile, back at the dealership. I dropped in a few days ago. They are still waiting for one small part.

Missing my trailer terribly, I asked if I could go "visit" it. The service person replied, "Sure, if you can find it amongst the other 200 trailers awaiting service out back."

I decided to forego the visit, but took the road that skirts the dealership's service yard home. I think I saw a glimmer of the FaN's skin squished amongst the SWBs and massive Class A motorhomes.

Oh, what pangs of longing! How do I miss thee. Let me count the.....rivets?

Getting ready

As I leave Saturday for my first over-two-week trip out for the year, I am getting everything ready, making lists, filling the fridge, and checking all the various things one does before heading out.

So, the excitement is beginning and I fully understand, let me repeat, fully understand how one might want to "visit" one's baby at the dealership. Kinda like visiting loved ones in the hospital.

Keep counting the ri..... FaN

I will be thinking of you on the road....and as Maggie an I catch up hopefully at the McD's on Sunday.

I will see you Sunday, Tommie.

I don't do no-shows.

Did we agree on 11:30am or 12:30pm?

Noon at McDonalds

Best I can remember it is noon....Central Daylight Time...LOL I will have towed about 320 miles to get there, so some variation may be possible, but I should be early if I can get started about 6:30 AM EDT.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Nobel Prize winner John Nash and his wife Alicia in a traffic accident. His film biop, A Beautiful Mind, was peppered with fictitious licence -Nash did not give this speech - but the screenwriting was sheer "genius"......

I am having a quiet time this morning with my coffee, and when I read this, I think about ----- 'if you can be obsessed with an object this much, what level of LOVE you could offer a sole mate'!
