Our little company has been invited to participate in the Oscar-week celebrity gifting room promo. It is not considered a celebrity endorsement, but we are allowed to take photos of the celeb with the product. (BTW, we were told that few A-listers show up - they send their personal assistants - but a few well-knowns are expected). Trust my no-holes-barred assistant George to describe it as "pimping the product!"

Anyway, when the promo is over, like any winter-wary Canadian, we are going to see a few sights and catch a few rays.

Looking for an update, here, FaN.

How'd it go, who'd you meet or see, did they love your product?? Inquiring minds want to know.

FaN is doing well, but very busy. She's back from LA and now has a job editing a magazine. This takes up most of her time. Since the Forum can be addictive and eat time, she is keeping away for now. If I knew how LA went, I'd tell you.

You guys sure don't bother me one iota! As Gene wrote, I have been swamped since returning from LA. I love y'all and whenever I think I'm going to log in for just a few minutes - three hours later I'm still at it.

Now about LA. I got a big, wet kiss from that seventies' hunk Erik Estrada. If you think he got to second base, he didn't. Motorcycles aren't my thing. But, he is a nice guy...even when the CHiPs are down....as he hasn't exactly been offered the roles since then.....

In all seriousness, Boo Boo et al aren't as rough around the edges as they are portrayed on television. "Reality" television isn't very real at all.

Now, about the motorcycle thing.....kinda like riding a race horse..... On steroids plus! And as this is a thread which can be hijacked, if only briefly, some of you may know the thrill of backing into a corner at way over a hundred and the excitement of the tail moving.....yes!

Back to my age appropriate behavior now. Thank you for allowing me to indulge

My associate George thinks I'm awful (but this did make him laugh) -
I called our recent jaunt to LA the "Bigger Dead than Alive Tour."

Why?

Because.....after mingling with those "celebrities" (mostly upstarts and B-listers) I wanted to visit Marilyn Monroe's final resting place (Westwood Memorial Park). Some of the biggest stars (and many personal favourites) are there: Marilyn, Jack Lemmon, Truman Capote, Natalie Wood, and George C. Scott.

Boy, did I ever have a thing for George C. Scott. Who could forget those opening scenes from Patton? I could almost hear him booming from the grave...."You know as much about (fill in the blank) as you do about fornicating!"

What is unusual is the fact Scott's grave is marked on the "directory," but his headstone is blank. Another exercise in rebellion - like his refusal to acknowledge his Oscar for Patton?

Anyway, after the hub-bub of Hollywood, George and I appreciated the quiet serenity of Westwood - while reminiscing about our favourite stars.....

Let us not forget Marilyn's career in the potato fields of Idaho, elegantly dressed in a potato sack, or her filmy attire in Big Sur behind Henry Miller's house.
