Oh yes! We used to have limbo contests but a contest of men contorting through the escape window far more interesting.

My imagination is running wild.

To make the contest for men getting out the window more interesting, a BMI greater than 30 could be required for entry.....or more accurately "exit".......LOL

The airlines fail to mention that at 39,000 feet, even the "largest" person imaginable in an economy seat could be extruded out the window if the glass fails beside the person, closely followed the the two seat mates in the row......

That was the major concern of Boeing airliner 707 pilot (Charlie Dowd) who has type rating certificate #1 for jet airliners. Then the following panic would see folks trying to get away from the opening.

Thus while the escape hatch, while larger, could provide some egress challenges, it would be doable with minimum harm. Perhaps a short stepladder under the window might help mitigate a six foot drop to the ground..

"When I was a mechanic in the Air Force, I was being transferred on a MATS plane, At 20,000 feet, one of the windows shattered. The guy sitting next to it was about 170 pounds. He went through that little space like a hunk of hamburger going down a disposal, and right after him coats, pillows, blankets, cups, saucers....."

How about a reality show where a real person escapes into another dimension through a window, but always lands in some part of North Korea? To add appeal they have a dog and his name is Lincoln.

It has potential - with one small change. The dog's name is Sony.

The Blown-Out Window Odyssey....cont'd

Yesterday I hitched-up the FaN and yo-ho, yo-ho, it's off to the dealership we go for the insurance estimate. Boy, it felt good to be towing the trailer again; for one brief moment, a fantasy took hold. We were off to our favourite spot in the Cascades. Darn the new business - I've got to get away once in awhile next year. So, instead of purchasing a mobile one-day licence, went for a full year (as an incentive). I sure miss seeing the FaN bobbing along behind - one of my happiest moments/memories.

However, this is the worse time for anything to happen; the dealership is not accepting any repair appointments until January 5th. The replacement window still has to get here from Jackson Centre too. This December has been so mild - but wet. Despite covering the window as best I could with plastic, droplets are still running down the wall, but I'm trying to catch them before that dreaded migration into the wood floor......

I am still sleeping in the FaN. Yes, it's a bit drafty, but I am a tough Canuck, and I just sleep better there, period. A friend thinks I am crazy, but I don't care. Beds in houses and hotels seem so strange now. I just get a good feeling everytime I step into the FaN, and head to my bedroom. So I don't care what people think. The other day someone even tried to "psychoanalyze" the situation. Have you noticed how many "psychologists" are walking around? Just because they took Psychology 101, they think they are entitled to such analysis. His "analysis" was this: "You find security there because you spent the first two months of your life in a preemie incubator."

I laughed....then headed to the "incubator."

Good-night, nurse!

LOL

Yes, the "psychologists".....

However, having practiced psychiatry for 25 years, now retired, I can say this about your situation.......

Enjoy the moment.... let the amateur shrinks pine away.... it apparently does them some good.

Now as to why you are sleeping in the trailer.... I have no clue, but strongly suspect I would do the same thing.

The real reason you sleep in there is one well know to Freudian therapists, penis envy. I'm sure Seth Rogen can write a script based solely on that and large quantities of weed. You might look him up while in LA, although he seems to be hiding lately for some reason.

Regardless of the dog's name, he'd probably be eaten for dinner in North Korea.
