Fan: during the speeches prior to the walk your only mistake was not being closer to the speaker, all the hot air coming out of the politician may have kept you warmer

Glad to see the warmer shoes, but they reminded me of an old song about wearing tan shoes with pink shoe laces, I have once again aged myself, although I was truly only a very small child and so it is a distant memory

I am sure you are up this morning FLY (or still up?) to watch your favourite men play the big hockey game????

It should make a great 'BREAKFAST SHOW'.

Now that both Canadian hockey teams have defeated the US teams again, we must give up become a territory of Canada until we are able to govern ourselves and be made a province.

Congratulations.

I have to admit to being prejudiced about Canadians - I love 'em. I'm in a RV Resort here in Arizona where over 2/3 of the occupants are Canadian. This experience is deepening my prejudice. These folks are the best! Kind, friendly, unpretentious. My only complaint is their unseemly celebration when their hockey team beat the U.S.

Going to head to Canada this summer.

Thanks.

I agree; those post-game celebrations are often "unseemly".....

You just proved you are a Canadian.

We shoot first and never have to apologize.

crow deaths

Watch out for crows while travelling .....

Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.

However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.
MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills.

The Ornithological Behaviorist very quickly concluded the cause: when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "Truck."
Absolutely amazing!

Cute. But for a true roadkill story, some years ago, while driving between New Orleans and St. Louis, I happened upon a buzzard feasting on roadkill. The buzzard lifted off with barely enough room to spare, and maneuvered into my slipstream to get a boost over my pickup.

But when it became clear that it was going to strike the pickup, the buzzard immediately lightened the load by vomiting all over the roof and windshield of the pickup. The buzzard got clear, but its very caustic stomach acid etched the windshield and damaged the paint on the roof of the truck before I could get it washed off. I left the truck that way untl I traded it in a couple of years later, because every time someone asked, "What happened there?" I had a story to tell them.
