I had a friend in college who bought a Nash Rambler because the seats went down. Then he found a girlfriend who helped him use the seats. He told me she was very religious except about sex. He later married her and I guess they didn't have to use the car again. My first car was a '56 Mercury Custom. Pretty ugly and slow, but it was a car! The width of the seats was only for people less than 5' tall, but such things can be overcome when you are young.

Lots of folks were conceived in the front seat of a VW Beatle in the 60s ands 70s. Where there is a will there is a way!

I think she didn't follow all the rules of her religion. I don't think it was because my friend was very sexy. He was an engineering major and thus, rather nerdy.

It's amazing the things I remember from more than 50 years ago, but I can't remember what my wife told me yesterday, unless it has to do with food or sex, and I'm a bit shaky on the food part.

You're too easy, Gene. No worries about you; whenever another one of those episodes of absent mindedness strikes, we will know exactly where to look:
1. The closest bed and/or backseat - Rambler or otherwise.
2. The closest restaurant (vegetarian, of course!)

Hollywood Bound!

I really wondered if I should post this because.....
- you would think I'm delusional
- the story is unbelievable!
- you only hear about this in "the movies."

Okay. Here goes.

A few weeks ago I took my gourmet-food product to a tradeshow.

A woman with "Hollywood connections" loved the product and the packaging.

She wanted to come to my "corporate headquarters" and learn more about the product and its developer.

I told her "corporate headquarters" was an Airstream trailer parked beside a barn/manure pile in the boonies of the Fraser Valley.

She thought that was was pretty kewl - even more kewl than the food product itself.

She then contacts some of her Hollywood connections who also thought this had the makings of a pretty good story.

To cut to the chase - even though I informed her that I am not star-struck - just a farmer who likes to fool around with food - I am headed to Hollywood in February.

The FaN, aka Corporate HQ had a lot to do with this.

You may not believe this - I barely do, but 'tis true.

More to follow.....

Given your earlier jobs I'd say you'll be alright with the admonition "keep a straight face". And good luck.

Gene has finally sold his house, and you're headed to Hollywood, FaN.

I would say....the stars are aligning, and good things are coming.

Best wishes in your creative endeavor, and please keep us posted.

You will need an attorney well versed in the entertainment industry. Hollywood is a strange world where people get chopped up by sleazy people with good lawyers. Be careful. It is an alternate reality from another universe there.

If this is about a "reality" show, it can make you famous or not. Most of these series do not pay the participants or if they do, they pay very little. The people I know who have gone to Hollywood with ideas and products have been somewhat overwhelmed and I don't think they ended up with deals, but they weren't solicited like you have been.

A local attorney should be able to help you find some attorneys in LA who will be on your side. They can get a lot of information from Martindale Hubbell, books listing all lawyers in the US with some information about them. I don't know whether it also covers Canada or if lawyers there can get it. Some of it is online ( Lawyers Find A Lawyer, Law Firm, Attorney & Legal Services: martindale ), but I haven't looked in years.

Make sure you have a round trip ticket in hand so you don't get stranded if this was just an attempt to appropriate your idea. There are occasional sleeve bags out there.

Hope this turns out well for you.

Hi, FaN; Good luck with your adventure. Right now, we are in a KOA in Pomona, California. But by February we will be back home in Salem, Oregon. Otherwise, we could meet. Good things, or bad things can happen in Hollywood, or anywhere else for that matter. Spending my entire life in Southern California, Hollywood is just another city.

She has just dropped this tidbit and left us to wonder.

For the record....I, for one, do not worry that FaN will get herself into a bad situation out there in Hollywood-land.

She is far too intelligent and wordly-wise, is my impression.

She will be careful and thorough, looking before she leaps. It's what she does.

Details, tho.....details would be nice. Just a few.

Most of us here don't even know what this product is you are peddling out there, FaN, and it would be nice if you would share.

Good luck, regardless. We all wish you the best.

Thank-you everyone, for your good wishes. Gene, really appreciate your legal input too. It is not a reality show.

I am sorry, but I have signed a contract and they asked that I keep it under wraps until we get closer to the launch event in February.

Barely have time to do anything else right now. It has been exhausting. Yesterday I managed to wash a bit of the green weather slime off the FaN. It's been sitting there since the Spring w/o moving. It's come in handy as "corporate headquarters," as I wrote, but I sure miss rolling down te highway with the FaN bobbing happily in the rear-view mirror.

Hope everyone has a joyous holiday season!
