- any Canadian politician
- those pesky Canada Geese that crap on our parks, beaches, and golf courses
- the weatherman (in the midst of a typical Canadian winter)!

Glad you made it home safe. Hope to see those pictures soon.

Meanwhile, back on the ranch, after a year of those proverbial blood, sweat, and tears, my food product is almost ready for the shelves. The labelling has been a nightmare. Speaking of Canadian politicians - the bilingual labelling law is a colossal pain.

But maybe, just maybe, I will be able to make my annual Airstream Thanksgiving pilgrimage to the Cascade Mountains. I will be sticking food labels on bags, but at least I will be doing it amidst some scenic splendour.

The FaN has not left the driveway since it was dewinterized last Spring! It has morphed from woman cave to corporate headquarters. Remember how I used to brag how my trailer seemed to fix itself? It happened again. For two years, the deadbolt has not worked. The dealer did not have a new one last time I was there; assured me it would be there when I took it in for winterization. Well, the other day I absent-mindedly stuck the key in the deadbolt and it worked!

Hope everyone had a good Airstream summer.

Hector and the Search for Happiness

Sometimes to find yourself, you need to get a little lost.

More important than what we are searching for is what we are avoiding.

We should concern ourselves not so much with the pursuit of happines, but the happiness of the pursuit.

I see a common denominator with Airstreaming. Definitely on the must-see bucket list!

I love it, and good to hear your project is nearing fruition.

Now......for what the food product is.

I see there's not been much posted lately by Carla and I've not checked in a while. So, let's find out more and glad to hear the lock works again. You can take the lock apart and grease it and it will work better. Ours came from the factory with no grease inside and I greased it and that lasted for nearly 50,000 miles until I had to grease it again this last summer. It wouldn't easily unlock or lock until I did.

Will the product be sold in the US? It is not something I ever eat, but my lips are sealed.

Dear FaN,

It pains me to admit it, as I try to eat healthy (oatmeal is my go-to breakfast) but I am a total sucker for Kellogg's Fruit Loops.

Thank you for your thread. I have been re visiting BC vicariously through it. I lived in Haney for a few years back in the late 70's. My MOHO at the time was a 69 Chevy van with the back turned into a camper. I well remember the long haul up to Roger's pass and camping at Canyon Hot Springs. The worst trains are the one heading up the pass. They shake the ground with all the power they are using. The downhill runners just whoosh on by.

Gearheart, you're very welcome.

However, back in the day, mother instructed me to stay away from those vans. According to her, said owers of said vans were only interested in getting daughters into those "back campers," and likewise shaking the ground with all the power they are using.

....ha! ha! ha! Just had a memory that's making me laugh.

One of my first teenage dates (Dwayne) had one of those vans with a glorious full-colour mural (on both sides).

While waiting for our first date (on the front porch) mom and dad suddenly had an urge to water and weed the front lawn.

Dwayne rolls up and parks in front of the house. My parents see the passenger's side mural: a lovely woman, gowned in a long white dress with a garland of flowers on her head. She is laying in a field of wildflowers. Cherub-like. Very innocent. I see a fingerling of approval register on mom and dad's face.

I wave good-bye to my parents and hop into the van's passenger seat.

To my horror, Dwane decides to do a U-turn right then and there, exposing the mural on the other side of the van. The same cherub-like woman, laying in the same field of flowers - totally nekkid.

Oh well. Dwayne and I had little in common -
so it never went beyond that first date anyways.

My Morris (avatar) was deemed date safe since once crammed in one remained fixed in the tiny bucket seats. Occasionally, I used it as a transport to home in order to get my dad's Nash. Jim

I had been warned about "fast cars and loose women" so I played the reverse gambit. My "loose" cars were always requiring my attention to keep 'em from falling apart, and the women were always too fast for me and my pursuit was in vain. I got engaged out there and 6 weeks B4 the altar I was told that the deal was off. :-(. I gave away my heart and got it back with boot marks all over and pieces missing.

Jim, yes. That lack of mobility -- which would be akin to a full body-cast -- that would indeed preserve one's virtue.

My 61 MGA was another loose car that required constant attention. Bucket seats aka birth control seats. We joked that not only was it impossible to do anything in the car, one had to get over the mood before one could get out of the car.

Gearheart, said the Wizard to the Tinman: Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.

Trouble is that practical matters and heart matters are mutually exclusive.
