(I think we should have fired-up our water bomber and given them all a good drenching).

What's wrong with people?
Sorry for that, FaN.

You did your part and put forth your very best effort, toward an honorable goal.....that others didn't appreciate it was their loss.

Hi Rich,

Thank-you for serving.

Bless your son too - for his respect.

Hi Jim,

I think more of those good examples are set in Eastern Canada. Here in B.C., we do have the naval base in Esquimalt, but as you may already know, they closed the army base in Chilliwack years ago.

Out of sight - out of mind? That should never be the case with our veterans.

Thank-you for your good wishes re: a "crowded hangar."

Wonderful!

If I had children, all of them would be involved with the Air Cadets.

For you, FaN

I have had many cats over the years, and currently have one. But, as my son and daughter in law are living with me while their house is being remodeled, I also have a Pit, Cane Corso/pit mix, Rottweiler, and a Jack Russell to let out each day, and have become very fond of them all. I love pets and each time I am with mine I will be thinking of you. So, be not alone. I suspect you have many many friends on this forum who are thinking of you.

To clarify a bit, my three sons a hives the highest rank, Eagle, in the US Boy Scout program.

As a side note, we all wore a beautiful patch from Baden-Powell house in London, England, the home of the start of the Scouting movement. It's a wonderful thing we got involved with for many years. I was a Scout Adult Leader for many many years.

I love it too.

This clip is titled "Too Many Dogs," but I don't think so!

Most dogs come to me like metal filings to a magnet. I enjoy petting them all. When we slow down, I would love to have one again. Where we live it would have to be relatively small to be fair to the animal. I think a West Highland Terrier (Westie) would be nice.

Switz, I enjoy reading your posts on the various threads and in particular your comment at the breakfast table about "slowing down". That one gave me a chuckle. I doubt that you will ever have a pooch. All gaskets replaced at about 200,000 miles and now out to pasture in Florida with 250,000 miles going strong. My new Italian Diesel may even be as good. Jim
