Washing the AS while on the road.

On some trips it would be nice to give the AS a bath. I was thinking maybe bucket washing at the camp ground, Walmart, or rest stops but figured those would be a bit unorthodox. So what's left, truck stops or trying to find a DIY carwash? What does everybody else do?

Great question. Some RV parks say "no RV washing". If they don't say that then I assume it's OK. Most RV parks have a 2 spikett setup, one for your normal water connection, and one for whatever. I use the extra one to wash my AS. I have a 50' roll-up hose and a brush/wand to wash our AS. I also use a bucket and soap since if you don't, I find the dust/dirt won't come off. After a good washing, I wipe down. I really like my rollup hose.

DIY car washes are plentiful and would be the best choice. I would frown on a Walmart or rest stop that cleaned more than the windows and tail lights. There is a place for everything. If they post any more "do not" signs in our modern society we may as well stay at home.

Early in the morning at campsite, or the DIY car washes if on the road.

Lucy gets a bath regularly while on her long trips. We just look for a do-it-yourself coin operated car wash. We usually do the Suburban at the same time.

Hi, I have never washed my trailer on the road; It always waits until we get home. Still looks good though.

Doug does a thorough hand wash and wax every time we come home from a trip, hits the windows with a bucket and squeegee every couple of days and we give it a good wash at a truck wash every week or so when we are traveling. We may debug more frequently, as needed.

Why have something so beautiful, and that we love so much, and not keep it sparkling clean, we say.

People ask us all the time if it is new. No, just well-cared for.

We usually wait until it is so disgustingly dirty we don't even want to open the door...then we look for a car wash with an oversized bay. Usually this occurs on an extended trip....like up or down the Alaska Hwy. There is a wonderful RV wash outside of Edmonton, Alberta. In fact there are quite a few RV washes throughout Canada.
