Visiting New York City

We are thinking about visiting New York City. The closest trailer park seems to be:
Liberty Harbor Marina & RV Park
11 Luis Munoz Marin Blvd.
Jersey City, NJ 07302
Supposedly, one can catch a ferry from their dock to downtown NYC (Financial District) and then catch a tourbus. Has anyone done this and whats the opinions of it?

The folks who do the "Long Long Honeymoon" Youtube videos were there and found it very basic, but safe and very convenient - they may answer you directly on this forum.

We had planned to go there last year but other commitments spoiled or plans - we will do it one day. I think it is only a 15 minute ferry ride to the foot of Wall St., and the ferry leaves right from the marina/campground. You can see it in googlemaps.

Let us know how you like it if you go!!

We stayed at Newburgh/New York city North Koa this summer when we visited NYC. It's about 2 hours drive north of the city, in the country and is a very very NICE KOA - one of the best we've ever stayed in. The people running it are great - even plugged a tire for us that we had blown on our way into the campground free of charge. Roads getting to it are 2 lane country roads, but it is very quiet and worth the drive to us. They do bus tours into NYC from the campground, but we drove ourselves as we had a specific destination in mind (Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island), and didn't want to see the rest of NYC again.
I know there's a campground on the Jersey side that's very close to the city. My parents stayed there years ago with an AS group.

Have fun!

They also have the subway into NYC from Jersey City but the Ferry is more fun.

Snedwid,
Try Croton RV park in Westchester & do rail commute to the city. Enjoy Bear mountain and visit other historic sites like the Indian Point neuclear plant. Beautiful Hudson view day and night and if you Kyak, you will love it. Read the review with other necessary info in the attached link. This is the venue for our ( NY metro WBCCI) October rally.
