We may travel the trace some in September when we take our trailer to the mother ship. It is a nice 50 mph road with beautiful scenery and that is OK by me.

m.hony -- Wow, everything looks so green in your area -- the grass and the trees are so much further ahead of ours. Our grass is just beginning to green up, but our trees are in the budding stage.

Come on Spring!

We are even having a late spring. It was the longest winter I can remember. Camping only stops here because of the "fall back" time change in November (we still go Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas holiday, or if we can get 3 days off) when it is already dark when I leave the office, but starts back at "spring forward" in March.
After Canopener in January, we camped 4 weekends so far.
We are coming to Ohio to the mother ship September 16. When is the fall foliage change in Ohio?

Fall foliage change for us in Central Ohio is usually around the end of September to early October -- depending upon the temps. Our part of Ohio is in a valley and it is just lovely during that time, as well as southern Ohio being lovely; I can't speak for northern Ohio, but it is flatter.

We officially had the second snowiest winter in recorded history here in Central Ohio this winter, and not that far off from the #1 spot! It was horrible, the cold just wouldn't go away.

We go to the Anniversary Rally/Chili Cookoff in late October, and that usually is our last camping until Spring. We were beginning to get concerned that we might not be able to dewinterize before leaving for the Vintage Trailer Academy, but now things are turning the other way, thank goodness!

We love going to the Mothership, but we haven't used the Terraport -- we plan to some day, just haven't done that. You'll have a great time going thru the factory.

February is the only month we don't camp. I guess we should be glad for that. In the future we may go to a rally in February, too.
I have lots of things planned for our trip to the Mothership/Terraport. There are a couple of threads on here about it- Things to do in/around Jackson Center, Our trip to the service center-
We have been lifelong campers, but we have only had a trailer for 4 years. We find ourselves using the trailer more and more often as time goes on.
I hate that Holiday World will be closed for the fall. I have wanted to go to Holiday World for 20 years. We will go earlier in the year one of these days...

We camped Thanksgiving weekend. It was really cold. I didn't de-winterize. We used the bath house even for face washing and teeth brushing.

Cannonball, that is sooo Texas! Or, at least what we Ohioans think of Texas as being, so lovely a view! You are fortunate to be close enough to go there.

m.hony -- What and where is "Holiday World"?

Texas looks like this too!

Lots of variety in Texas terrain. This shot is near Rusk in the east Texas piney woods. Marathon is in the desert west.

mimiandrews -- I do not associate Texas with those types of trees, thanks for sharing that pic. Would that be in the panhandle area (around Amarillo)? We're going to be going to Albuquerque on I-40 in a couple of weeks!! Wow, did I really say that!? We're so excited!

No, the panhandle area around Amarillo is prairie country, bisected by a few canyons. Stop at Palo Duro Canyon if you get a chance. Check the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's website for Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

The picture with the trees and the dogwood in bloom was taken near Rusk, TX. That's in the eastern part of the state where it is quite wooded.

Love the smell of Jet A and Jet Noise...

Taken at the Golden West Air Show and Fly-in in Marysville CA held each June... Camping along the main taxiway adjacent to the Runway... Lots of interesting planes taxi'd past the Airstream over course of the weekend...
