Vancouver bc rv park??

We are planning our next trip from Ontario to BC in August, and are wondering if it's better to take the ferry to the Island, or leave it on the mainland. We have accommodations on the Island, and we're just not sure if we should bring our 'baby' on the ferry or not. Any suggestions for Vancouver (mainland) RV parks, and would they keep the trailer while we're on the Island?? We can't leave our 'baby' by herself, she must be safe and secure.
Any suggestions and advice is ALWAYS greatly appreciated and useful.

We ferried our SOB to Vancouver Island about 5 to 6 years ago and I think it cost around $140 each way. We are planning to visit Vancouver in late August and early Sept. This time, we plan to leave the trailer and truck behind and take the passenger ferry and then take the city bus into Victoria. We're really looking forward to the best poutine we've ever had! Traveling on the island was fun but not fast due to congested traffic in places and twisty and hilly roads. We stayed at three different campgrounds. They were reasonably priced and in beautiful locations.

I don't know about storage, we stayed at the Burnaby Caribou RV Park. It was tight and there was no place, as I remember it, for storing an RV. Great Park, though.

We stayed at the Capilano RV Park in West Vancouver, almost under the Lions Gate Bridge. Nice location to walk to Downtown over the bridge or a short drive. www.capilanorvpark.com See the Steam Powered Clock and check the Farmer's Market, take a water taxi around the harbor, hit China Town. See the Grouse Mtn tram, and see the Capilano suspension bridge.
A trip into the residential area of West Vancouver is wonderful too, to see all the beautiful homes.

In Victoria BC we stayed at West Bay Marine Village and RV Park. Right on the water with a spectcular view of downtown Victoria and harbor.
Once again, easy walk by paved trail into town www.westbay.bc.ca

If you are in Victoria, let me tell you of a real find: Go and tour the Parliament building and then go downstairs to the little known diningroom for the legislature, which in 2006 was open to the public. Great food, white linen tablecloths, very, very reasonable prices (almost cheap) that can't be beat anywhere.

Thanks for the info about the Parliament Bldg.... We were on the Island many years ago, but didn't make it to Victoria then, but hoping to make it there this time. I found another park in Delta, and wondering if anyone knows of it???? www.parkcanada.com
Looks like a nice place, close to the ferry, not too expensive... actually cheaper than taking the trailer on the ferry with us. Still deciding where to stay once we get there.

Looks like you have received lots of ideas. A couple of years ago we stayed at a wonderful park - Peach Arch RV Park in Surrey, BC - not too far to travel to Vancouver, but I don't think they have storage available. Have also stayed at Capilano but found it noisy and when we were there several thefts had occurred. Another great spot is a provincial campground just north of Vancouver at Porteau Cove - no services but has showers and a bathroom - right on the water which was great.
We will be back in Vancouver in early Sept to visit our Daughter and her family for a week and were hoping to find someone with courtesy parking with WBCCI but no luck so far.

Also. during that same trip in 2006, we used the BC Ferry system. And what a class act, making loading and unloadiing of our 45ft SOB coach towing a 4X4 Chevy Duramax slick as it could go.
I would not hesitate to take your Airstream on the BC Ferry system.
On the other hand, Black Ball Transport between Port Angeles Wa, and Victoria BC was difficult and I would re-consider using them again.
