Using an Airstream inside a restaurant

I didn't know if anyone had seen this but a friend owns a pool hall, bowling alley, and pizza restaurant with a highly modified AS as a serving counter in the building. This link will take you to a virtual tour of the room where you can see it.

Virtual Tours (Palasad: bowling lanes, billiard lounges, private rooms, wood oven cuisine)

You can click and drag your mouse around the picture to explore the room with the AS.

The AS was stored in a barn while it was gutted and modified.. A local metal craftsman did all the cutting and edge finishing. It took 12 guys to lift it from the road up about 10 steps and through the double doors of the restaurant.

Didn't know or I might have

I drove by the joint last night on the way to Home Depot - Fanshawe Park Road – to buy aluminum for my Argosy reno.

I didn’t know I could stop to have a beer at an Airstream Bar or I might have.

that is so cool! i'd love to see it in person. all you need is a campfire and toasting tongs to go with your bowling shoes and you'd have a vacation! thanks for sharing.

I assume that this is in Port Huron? As in Michigan?

Too far for a quick roadtrip.

Looks great!

Here is a screengrab from the tour:

That is pretty cool.
Too far away though for me to just stop by!

It is actually in London, Ontario. I'll try to post some photos another friend shot for their advertising campaign.

What an eagle eye you have! I almost didn't recognize it as such as the top is detached from the bottom. I can't tell from the photo which pinball machine it is.

Do you have a machine of your own? A true PINBALL NUT would have their own!

I used to be a pinball nut, I had Star Wars (DE), X Files, and Scared Stiff. Unfortunately I sold them to get the money to buy the AS, but I guess that was worth it in the end. Awful hard to tell what machine that is from that view, though!

I like the tables with the postcards on them too. That place looks pretty darned cool all over. What's more fun than being bathed in neon lights while kicking back by an Airstream?
