On our trip to Yellowstone on the walkway..the bison jumped up right in front of my hubby..stood there for 15 minutes before jumping down..and 2 seconds later a second bison jumped onto the walkway..

In bison culture, he was challenging your hubby for possession of his cows. The correct response from your hubby would be to quickly approach the bison and punch him in the forehead.

If performed correctly, the first bison will collapse, and the second bison (known as the wingman) will drag his lifeless hulk to the bison graveyard. Your hubby will have gained access to his harem and will be allowed to adopt all the calves.

As first wife of the new dominant bull you will become the Bison Queen. You will be adored by all the other bison. You will also lead the bison herd on their annual migration since you know all the good places to eat.

If hubby is unable to punch out the bull bison, you will have a long hard winter.

We had a similar experience in Yellowstone last June. This guy has a reserved spot where he sits all day right by the walking path causing most visitors to walk double time past this area. SuEllyn agreed to pose for this picture only after I promised to alert her if the "big guy" got up.

It takes a brave man to refer to any women as a "Bison Queen", good luck with that.

I certainly hope I have not offended Codybear or anyone else. In my culture, Bison is the most respected of all the land animals. Ranks above Raven and Wolf.

not to be outdone by the first beast

To All, that was a pic I will treasure!..I was way down from hubby on walkway, instead just standing in the parking lot waiting for him to come back down so we could leave the park, having spent all week touring.. and happened to look up to see him w/his bison..at the same time, I had my own glorious encounter

Hi mark,

I figured standing 5 ft away was enough for me..you should have seen the various risk-taking tourists sidle up to him to get a pic w/him..boy, not me, thank you!..I thought for sure one of them would either kiss him or climb on for a ride!
